Black Myth Wukong is a challenging action game, however it gives you enough tools to be able to take on the tough paths and intimidating bosses; putting you in the shoes of The Destined One. These unlocks keep happening at a steady pace through the game, and one such helpful addition is the ability to craft medicines. In this article, we have put up all that there is to know on medicines in Black Myth Wukong.
How To Unlock Crafting Medicines In Black Myth Wukong
You can unlock the ability to craft medicines in Black Myth Wukong by completing a small quest for the NPC Xu Dog located in the Yellow Wind Ridge. You will come across the area naturally as you progress to Chapter 2 in the game. In order to reach this NPC,
- Start from the Village Entrance Keeper’s Shrine.
- Head back towards the rocky outcrop.
- You will come across a cave with some paintings on the rock just outside it on the left.
Xu Dog will ask you to defeat a frog who has apparently swallowed his formula. Cue for a boss fight – against Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw. If it sounds and looks familiar, it should – you would have just defeated Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang in chapter 1. The boss should hopefully not be too much of a challenge; as it has similar attack pattern to what you have successfully overcome. However, you may want to keep Shock-Quelling Powder with you to protect yourself from the Shock Bane through the lightning spells that the boss throws at you just in case. Once the boss has been defeated, it will drop the Evil Repelling Medicament along with other goodies. Take that back to Xu Dog and he will reward you with the ability to now craft medicines at a Keeper’s Shrine!
You can now hunt for recipes which you can unlock and craft using Make Medicines whenever you rest at a Keeper’s Shrine. However, the NPC quest is not over, as there is still a more powerful and permanent form of medicines that you can still unlock – Celestial Medicines. Lets see how to get that unlocked as well.
How To Unlock Crafting Celestial Medicines In Black Myth Wukong
At the end of the interaction in Yellow Wind Ridge, Xu Dog runs away, seeking to retrieve a lost furnace. You will come across him later in the game, in the cellar of the Crouching Tiger Temple. Interact with him and you will now have a ‘Celestial’ tab available in addition to ‘Mortal’ tab when you select Make Medicine.
Celestial Medicines are powerful unlocks that grant you permanent increase to Health, Mana, Stamina, Attack Power and Resistances by consuming Mind Cores. Mind Cores are drops from bosses or can be found in chests and are also sold by Xu Dog.
These can also be re-allocated to help you increase a different stat depending upon your requirement; by selecting Remake Celestial Medicines.
