How To Use Solar Panels And Battery Banks In 7 Days To Die

One of the things many players love about 7 Days to Die is how you can build entire automated systems to make your base more efficient. Combining Solar Panels and Battery Banks, for instance, lets you create a self-sufficient system to ensure a steady power supply for all the electrical components in your base.

While these systems are excellent, building them can take a bit of work. In this guide, we’ll showcase how you can use Solar Panels and Battery Banks in 7 Days to Die. Let’s get started.

Using Solar Panels And Battery Banks In 7 Days to Die

In 7 Days to Die, you can use Solar Panels and Battery Banks to create a power supply system for your base.

Solar Panels, also called Solar Banks, are non-craftable items that are hard to come by. You can only buy them from Traders, and they usually cost 4,500 Dukes per unit. That’s not all; you’ll also need to have the Level 5 Barter Skill unlocked to buy these components.

Battery Banks, on the other hand, are craftable items that require the following ingredients:

    • 10 x Forged Iron
    • 11 x Electrical Parts
    • 6 x Scrap Polymers

After unlocking the Wiring 101 perk, you’ll be able to craft the Battery Bank from your Workbench.

However, simply buying Solar Panels and crafting Battery Banks isn’t enough; you must also build a power supply system that combines the two components.

The power output of your Solar Panels depends on the levels of the Solar Cells you have installed. Like Solar Panels, the Solar Cells can’t be crafted and must be bought. If you use Level 6 Solar Cells in the Solar Panel, the power output goes up to 180 Watts.

To set up the power supply system, first install the Solar Panel in a location that gets sunlight during the day. It’s best to install it on a roof. You then need to connect it to the Battery Bank using the Wire Tool.

Here are the steps that you’ll need to follow:

    • Place the Solar Panel in your desired location and place the Battery Bank next to it.
    • Equip the Wire Tool and aim at the Solar Panel.
    • Right-click on it and let the animation run its course.
    • Now aim at the Battery Bank and right-click again.
    • Let the animation end.

You’ll finally have the system up and running. The Solar Panels will absorb sunlight and convert it into power, which it will store automatically in the Battery Bank. During the night, your base will draw power from the Battery Bank to keep the electronics in your base operational.

That brings us to the end of this article. For more guides on the game, like How To Get Wheels and How To Get Forged Iron, be sure to check out theGameslayer.
