Making a solid character build with the Skill Points you get is your bread and butter when it comes to survival in 7 Days to Die. Often players will start a new game and progress through multiple weeks and realize the perks they invested in during the early game aren’t useful or don’t complement their playstyle. Fortunately, there is a way to reset Skill Points in 7 Days to Die but it comes with a price.

Find a Trader that sells Grandpa’s Fergit’n Elixir and consume it to reset all your Skill Points in 7 Days to Die. This elixir will allow you to respec all the Skill Points you have earned so you can add them to different perks. However, this will cost you 18,000 Dukes and you can only use it once.

7 Days to Die has a lot of perks to choose from so it’s natural for a new player to spend their Skill Points incorrectly. The best early-game perks are sometimes the ones you don’t expect to be the best at first glance like the Run and Gun perk, since you aren’t going to find out about the reload penalty that this perk solves until you really start using ranged weapons regularly.

The Grandpa’s Fergit’n Elixir used to cost over 50,000 Dukes in the earlier versions of the game which meant that you could only respec after progressing much further. Thankfully this has now been changed and the price for the elixir is greatly reduced to the point where resetting your Skill Points in 7 Days to Die still requires a decent chuck of your wealth but can be done fairly early in the game.

7 Days To Die is a zombie survival game that had launched in Early Access a staggering 11 years earlier in Dec 2013; with the 1.0 version finally releasing on PC and new gen consoles on July 25, 2024. The game immediately saw great interest with the active player count crossing 100k+ players on Steam.
