Borderlands 4’s Kairos is home to a plethora of collectibles, and among them are the Dead Bolts, the remaining cybernetic implants used by the Timekeeper regime in an attempt to control the population of the planet. These Bolts lie beside the dead people who had it implanted previously, hence their name, Dead Bolt. This guide will help you find all 10 Dead Bolts located in the region of The Fadefields in Borderlands 4.
How to Find All Dead Bolts in The Fadefields
These Bolts can be found beside the person who implanted them in Borderlands 4. Interacting with them will result in a final conversation with the host about their last words or the last interaction just before their demise. Here’s where you can find all of them in The Fadefields region in the game:
Dead Bolt #1 | The Howl
The first Dead Bolt in The Howl is located to the northwest of this region’s Order Silo, the Kit Hole. From there, head northwest into the forest until you come across a nest area. There, you’ll find the first Bolt lying on the nest next to a dead body.
Dead Bolt #2 | The Howl
The second Bolt in The Howl is located to the northwest of the Shut Eye Keep in The Fadefields region. First, you need to travel to the Safehouse if it’s unlocked. From the Shut Eye Keep, head northwest along the road, then after a short while, turn left across a lake located towards the southwest of the area. By the lake, you’ll find the Bolt on the ground inside a small camp with another dead NPC.
Dead Bolt #3 | Coastal Bonescape
The first Dead Bolt in the Coastal Bonescape region is located at the Fishin’ Spot, which can be accessed after completing the game’s tutorial. You’ll come across a lake in this area, with an island in the middle of it. Head to the island, and you’ll find the Bolt located on the shore next to a wooden boat and a dead NPC body.
Dead Bolt #4 | Coastal Bonescape
The second Coastal Bonescape Bolt is located on the west shore of the region in Sandytoes Villa. Head north from both Stillshore and Sarrett’s Jetty, and you’ll find yourself at the far western coast of Coastal Bonescape. There, you’ll find the Bolt on the upper deck behind the house.
Dead Bolt #5 | Hungering Plains
The first Dead Bolt at the Hungering Plains is located to the southeast of Horace’s Oversight, in the middle of the region. This Bolt will be located on a hill by a trail, which is visible on the map. Head to this location and search for a flipped-over car that has been buried in the dirt. Here, you’ll find the Bolt next to another dead NPC.
Dead Bolt #6 | Hungering Plains
The next Bolt in the Hungering Plains is located to the north of the region at the very top, near Dominian. When you reach the northern edge of the area, look for a cage near a house. The Bolt will be located on the ground, in between the cage’s bars.
Dead Bolt #7 | Idolator’s Noose
The first Dead Bolt in Idolator’s Noose is located in the Tetanus Quad, to the south of the Someday Rise Safehouse. At the Tetanus Quad, head to the center of the area, and you’ll find the Bolt on the ground, in front of a giant grinding machine.
Dead Bolt #8 | Idolator’s Noose
The second Bolt in the Idolator’s Noose is located to the north inside Rosemary’s Reserve, which is found to the northeast of the region. Head to the north of Rosemary’s Reserve, and you’ll find the Bolt in the water next to a dead body just by a dock.
Dead Bolt #9 | Idolator’s Noose
The third Bolt in Idolator’s Noose is located in the Mirehome, to the south of the region. You can access this area by heading down from Wyclef’s Reprieve Safehouse. Once you’re inside the Mirehome, look for a church in the center of the region. You’ll find the Bolt on a tombstone next to the church.
Dead Bolt #10 | Dissected Plateau
The first Dead Bolt in the Dissected Plateau, which will be the final one in The Fadefields, is located to the south of the region inside the Killing Floors building. Head inside the building, and make your way to the water body at the back of it. When you’re there, look for an island with a Red Chest on it. You’ll find the Bolt lying on the ground next to the Red Chest on the island.
