Lethal Pursuer in Dead by Daylight is a perk that comes in very handy when you are setting an aura-focused build. In this guide, we will take the perks and pick out a perfect killer that will receive the bonus of the Lethal Pursuer to enhance our murder rampage. Here is a guide to the Lethal Pursuer perk build in Dead by Daylight.
Lethal Pursuer Perk Overview
The highlight of the build is the Nemesis perk: Lethal Pursuer. The perk got better after the 6.1.0 patch, as it added an additional effect to the perk.
First Effect: At the beginning of the trial, you will see all survivors’ aura for 9 seconds.
Second Effect: Anytime you spot a survivor’s aura for a period of time, the aura duration is increased by an additional 2 seconds.
The addition of the second effect is a game-changer for aura reading builds. Every aura reveal will get an additional 2-second boost, making it perfect for hunting the survivors in the map.
Perks for Lethal Pursuer

So here we are going to choose the perk that will benefit from the Lethal Pursuer’s effects. Primarily, we are going for the aura aspect of the survivors. Here is the list of perks that will benefit from the Lethal Pursuer:
- Barbecue & Chili: After you hook a survivor, you will get to see the aura of all other survivors for 5 seconds, but only if the survivors are 40 meters from the hook.
- I’m All Ears: If a survivor is performing a rushed action 48 meters from your current location, you will see their aura for 6 seconds. The perk has a 40-second cooldown (Tier-III).
- Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage: At the beginning of the trial, 4 random hooks will be transformed into scourge hooks. Scourge hooks will appear as a white aura. When a survivor gets unhooked from the scourge hook, you will see all the survivor’s aura for 7 seconds.
Every perk will get an additional 2-second bonus from the Lethal Pursuer, as any time you see the survivor’s aura, the second effect of Lethal Pursuer will trigger.
Killer Choice: The Nurse

Here is a quick overlook of the Nurse’s stats in the game.
- Special Attack: Blink Attack
- Weapon: The Bonesaw
- Movement Speed 3.85 m/s
- Blink Movement Speed: 13.33 m/s
- Terror Radius: 32 meters
The killer we have chosen for the build is also going to be aura-focused to get the best value out of the Lethal Pursuer perk. The Nurse’s Calling perk is one of the key reasons why Nurse is perfect for the Lethal Pursuer build.
A Nurse’s Calling perk: The aura of survivors who are healing or being healed will reveal to you within 20/24/48 meters.
Another highlight of the Nurse is her mobility movement skill, the blink ability. This allows the Nurse to teleport around the map, even going through walls and obstacles. The skill has a bit of a learning curve to it, and it takes a while before you master the ability.
At the start of the match, you will instantly see the survivor’s aura for around 11 seconds because of the Lethal Pursuer perk. Take out the survivor and hook them to the white aura scourge hook in the map. Use the blink ability to teleport around the map to catch other survivors off guard. I’m All Ears allows you to see the aura of survivor for 6 seconds when they are performing a rush action. Then it’s a mix of Barbecue & Chili and Scourge Hook. Barbecue & Chili allows you to see the aura of a survivor for 7 seconds (5 seconds + 2 from Lethal Pursuer) when you hook a survivor. And Scourge Hook also allows you to see the aura when a survivor gets unhooked for 9 seconds (7 seconds + 2 from Lethal Pursuer). So always hook the survivor to the scourge hook, show up as white color in the area.
When you are setting up a Lethal Pursuer build in Dead by Daylight, keep going for the aura reading perks and killers who are ranged and have high mobility to get the best out of the perk. Keep that in mind, close-range aura perks have a high cooldown compared to longer-range aura perks, which come with few restrictions and no cooldowns. Also, do check our Survivor build for DBD that can act as a great counter to this one.
