Titan Quest 2 – How to Get and Use Moly Root

In Titan Quest 2, you will find your inventory filled with random items that you have picked along the way. One of the more commonly found early game items is the Moly Root, which doesn’t have any particular use at the start of the game. Later on, you will require it for certain quests, so hanging on to these peculiar roots will prove handy. This guide will cover how to get and use Moly Root in Titan Quest 2.

How to Get Moly Root in Titan Quest 2

There are just three Moly Roots to find during the game’s Early Access, and they are located in different sections of the Flooded Farmlands. The first location to check out is the Temple of Glaukos’s crypt. This area unlocks after obtaining the second Titan Ichor from the Priestess. Head inside the crypt and make your way towards a cliff with several Ichtian enemies around it. Defeat them to obtain the first Moly Root nearby.

After you exit the Temple of Glaukos and head towards Pyrgos Village, you will spot the second Moly Root within the Forlorn Garden along the way. You can’t miss this one as it is clearly visible.

The third and final Moly Root is located in Farmlands Crossroads, to the north of Flooded Farmlands and the Enclave. Take the road northeast while heading towards the village and you will spot the root along your path.

    How to Use Moly Root

Moly Root is tied to a handful of quests, and consuming this item will turn the user into their original state. The root is located within the currency tab of the repository, since it is a type of currency, and isn’t available in your inventory.

    Using the First Moly Root

The first time you get an indication to use the root is during the quest Naiad and the Goats. When you speak to the goat herder after obtaining the Moly Root, she will turn you into a goat. Speak to her again as a goat to get the option to consume the Moly Root and turn back.

    Using the Second Moly Root

The second time you will find a use for the Moly Root is after locating a secret NPC in Pyrgos village. He will make clucking noises, similar to a chicken, so head up to him and speak to him. Since he can’t speak in human speech, hand over the second Moly Root to turn him back into a black chicken.

Your next task is to find his home, and there are 6 chicken coops located all around the village. Most of the chicken coops are located at any dead ends of the village, except for one hidden on the western alleyway. The chicken will automatically head into his respective coop when you find it.

    Using the Third Moly Root

Once you are done with the task at hand, head over to Farmlands Crossroads and visit the village trader. Right behind her shop is a secret trap door. Enter through it, and you will immediately be turned into a spider. This is where the final Moly Root comes in, move a bit ahead to reach a door first. A prompt to consume Moly Root will appear, after which you are turned back.

Unlock the door ahead and kill all the spiders lurking around. They will drop Spider Excretions, which is a requirement to be used within the cauldron at the end of the Spider Cellar. You will require 8 Spider Excretions to be used here, and after tossing them all into the Cauldron, you will receive experience points and +10 Energy boost.
