In Mycopunk, you will come across some unexpected upgrades and areas where you least expect it. You can also encounter a secret boss called Cranieus, but to locate this boss, you need to explore the very depths of certain regions. During your travels, it can be easy to miss this location, so this guide will explain where to find Cranieus in Mycopunk.

To find this elusive boss, load up the Moldy Tundra map and start any mission on any difficulty. Next, head over to the circular building and look around, you should spot a large red mushroom tree nearby. If you can’t spot it, get up to a vantage point and look around near the circular building. The building itself can be found in one of the corners of the map.

Once you spot the red mushroom tree, head under it and keep looking at the ground. You will find a hole in the ground that you can jump through. Inside this hole is a console that you can activate to head deeper, but you need to wait for all of your crew to be with you before you can activate the console. Activating the console will reveal a new area, but be warned, you won’t have as many lives here as you initially did.

Inside this new map is a large structure at the distance, and you need to make your way over there. Before you climb up the tower, it is best to get rid of any enemies that have followed you here. If you don’t get rid of them, you will end up meeting them at the boss arena. Next, climb up the tower till you reach the very top of the circular structure. Peer over the ledge of the structure, and you will spot several upgrade materials at the bottom. Jump in and wait for the boss to spawn.

    How to Beat Cranius

    • It is recommended to load into this secret map with a crew at hand.
    • While you can hunt down the boss right after the tutorial, it is best to do it after you have a couple of weapons unlocked.
    • It is best to carry along a weapon that deals splash damage, like the Globbler, and any other weapon that deals DPS damage.
    • Cranius deals damage similar to a normal abomination, but it does have a secret weapon.
    • It can shoot upgrades at you using a special gun, and this can deal a lot of damage.
    • This gun can be picked up by other enemies in case they make it inside the arena and if you haven’t killed them while they were outside.
    • So, even if the boss is dead and the enemies are still around, they can pick up the gun and kill you with it.
    • Cranius has a single layer of armor surrounding it, so use your best DPS weapon to tear through it and deal damage.
    • You can also use the Globbler to bring its armor down, or use it to keep other enemies at bay while you tackle the boss.
    • Once the boss is at below half health, it will cover itself in a shield and release several bombs in your direction. You can quickly dodge them by sidestepping away just before they land.
    • Keep aiming at the boss and shooting it down to lower its health and kill it.
    • Upon its first death, you will receive several weapon upgrades and cosmetics. Subsequent fights will just give you one weapon upgrade.

Once the boss is dead, you can summon the drop pod to get you back to your base. This is a great way to farm weapon upgrades, and can be used as a quick hack to get the upgrades here instead of hunting it down across the territories.
