Facing the toughest enemies in a horror game is a tale as old as time. Horror games tend to have difficult monsters where you have to focus on getting away instead of fighting back. R.E.P.O features one of the strangest monsters equipped with a cane and shotgun to ruin your day. Here is a guide to dealing with Blind Huntsman in R.E.P.O.
Blind Huntsman Attack
One shotgun fire is an immediate kill, so getting caught is the worst thing that can happen. The shotgun is not a great gun for range attacks, so putting enough distance between you and the huntsman will save your life. Also, the Huntsman we are dealing with in this game is blind. This means you are free to move around them, but with caution.
They will hear your current location if you decide to make a run for the exit. Running around will create footsteps loud enough to get picked up by the Blind Huntsman. Even if you do make a mistake and accidentally get in the way of the Huntsman, you can get out.
Dealing with Huntsman
Silence and Patience will be the winning strategy when you are dealing with them. Here are the ways you can save your life from Blind Huntsman in R.E.P.O.
- The best thing to do here is crouch when you are moving, you will make little to no noise. This will help you get around the area, even getting close to the Huntsman but from his side. Don’t try to walk up to the front of the Huntsman, he will know your spot right away.
- The Huntsman has no visibility but its hearing power is more than impressive. If you do make a sound, they will hear it quickly. So refrain from running when you encounter one of these monsters.
- Stay away from the Huntsman’s patrolling route. Huntsman follows a particular route when they are out patrolling. Getting in the way is the quick way to get yourself shot. A quick observation of Huntsman will reveal the path they take.
- Most of the time, the Blind Huntsman will be patrolling the extraction point, so make sure to play it safe rather than gamble your life in a rush.
- The reloading is insanely fast, so if you are planning to run past him, make it fast because it takes around 2 seconds for the Huntsman to reload the shotgun for another go.
Some have managed to kill the Blind Huntsman with a Tranquilizer gun but it may require some work to pull it off. You can try Greandes and Landmines to also deal a good amount of damage to the Huntsman. So far the only tactics that seem to work well against the Blind Huntsman are to crouch, make less noise, and not run.
