Collectibles in any game can be the toughest thing, and sometimes it feels tougher to collect the item than taking down a boss in the game. Metaphor: ReFantazio has 50 Gold Beetles scattered throughout its world. It can be difficult to cross out all of them, as some of them are missable, to make sure you don’t miss out on any one of these, here we have a guide to help you find all the 50 Gold Beetles in Metaphor: ReFantazio.
All 50 Gold Beetles Locations In Metaphor: ReFantazio
You will need to gather at least 46 to clear out everything that could be purchased with the Gold Beetles. Out of 50 Gold Beetles, 3 of them are highly missable, as they are tied to a quest with a deadline or area that gets permanently locked.
Note: Missing out on Gold Beetle doesn’t carry any consequences for your achievement or trophy hunting. The trophy asks us to make all the transactions with the Gold Beetle.
Gold Beetle #1 (Missable)
Location: Northern Border Fort, Mountain Forest Camp
You will find the first Gold Beetle next to the tree near the camp.
Note: Since this one is available in the prologue, if you miss it once, it will be gone forever. So make sure to grab the Gold Beetle before moving on with the rest of the game.
Gold Beetle #2
Location: Grand Trad, Sunshade Row
Head to the Armor shop, and check the area behind the stairs left of the shop. You will find the second Gold Beetle in the corner behind the stairs near the wooden barrels.
Gold Beetle #3 and #4
Location: Grand Trad, Sunshade Row
Head to the Armor shop, take the stairs in the front, and on your right, you will come across a building named Comfort Concoctions. Head inside the shop, once inside, check one of the spice bags to your left. Out of three bags of spices, the middle one will be glowing unusually. Interact with the bag in the middle by sticking your hand into it (don’t worry the shopkeeper won’t mind) to find the first Gold Beetle in the shop.
The second Gold Beetle will be on the shelf behind the merchant on the right, Head over there and interact with the Gold Beetle to obtain it.
Gold Beetle #5
Location: Grand Trad, Regalith Grand Cathedral
Head to the Recruitment Center, and get inside, take the doorway on the left, and you will find the Gold Beetle in the corner of the room next to the doorway, on the floor.
Gold Beetle #6
Location: Belega Corridor, Dungeon
Quest: A Bullish Embargo
You have to kick off the side quest A Bullish Embargo from Brigitta to gain access to Belega Corridor which holds our sixth Gold Beetle.
Make your way to the bottom floor, you will find the beetle behind a locked door. There is no way to open the door, you have to take a detour through a small hole in the wall to get to the other side of the locked door.
Gold Beetle #7
Location: Grand Trad, Tradia Desert
Head through Tradia Desert, and you will find the Gold Beetle next to a tree in front of the entrance.
Gold Beetle #8 and #9 (RNG)
Location: Martira- Visca Alba Tavern
Go inside the tavern, now interact with the fireplace next to the dining tables. You will obtain the first Gold Beetle #8.
The second Gold Beetle in the Tavern might not get as easy as the first one. Here you will find the Gold Beetle after drinking from the pitcher in the guest room. But the beetle has an RNG mechanics to it, you will not get it on your first try. We recommend you keep checking into the guest house and get hydrated from the pitcher, hopefully, you will obtain the Gold Beetle after a few tries.
Gold Beetle #10
Location: Abandoned Tomb, Calendula Region
You need to start the mission A Dagger, a Ring, and a Rake to get sent to an Abandoned Tomb and you will find the Gold Beetle in the dungeon. You will need Imagination Rank 2 to speak to Pompous Man in Marira’s Thoroughfare Square on 6/29.
- From the entrance head straight, then turn right and climb the ladder.
- Once you are on the upper floor, here take another ladder found south of the map.
Now you just have to walk on a linear path and you will find the Gold Beetle on the floor.
Gold Beetle #11
Location: Calendula Region, Man-Eater’s Grotto
Head to the recruitment center in Martira, and grab the bounty The Man-Eater in the Mine. It will send you to the Man-Eater’s Grotto. Make your way to the lower floor of the Grotto, here you will find the Gold Beetle in the northwest region of the dungeon.

Location: Seabreeze Street, Brilehaven
Just head to the dockyards, you will find the Gold Beetle here around the corner of the loading docks, next to a pile of wood.
Gold Beetle #13
Location: Seabreeze Street, Brilehaven
Head to the back alley northeast of the map. Navigate through the alleyway and you will find the Gold Beetle next to the crates on a balcony.
Gold Beetle #14
Location: Merchant’s Bazaar, Brilehaven
Here head to Black Cat’s Claw Shop, go around the shop, and you will find the Gold Beetle next to the crates.
Gold Beetle #15
Location: Merchant’s Bazaar, Brilehaven
Head to the recruitment center, but you don’t have to go inside. Just turn right from the entrance, and you will find the Gold Beetle next to the horse carriage parked up front.
Gold Beetle #16
Location: Arenafront Wharf, Brilehaven
You will find the Gold Beetle in front of the large building at the corner. It’s next to the crates in front of the house, you will not miss it.
Gold Beetle #17 (Missable)
Location: Seabreeze Street, Brilehaven
Quest: Dental Distress
When you reach 23/7 on the calendar, talk to the Sullen Man on Seabreeze Street next to the dock area. The man will have a quest marker above his head, and he will be standing next to the bench. Speak to him to accept the quest. Finish the quest and you will get 15,000 Reeves and a Gold Beetle as an extra reward.
Note: This quest will have a deadline of 08/09, so don’t delay.
Gold Beetle #18
Location: Grand Trad, Regalith Grand Cathedral
Prerequisites: You must speak to Gold Beetle Trader at Arenafront Wharf, Brilehaven.
Make sure to talk to the trader before hitting the market square in Grand Trad. You will the Gold Beetle in front of a fruit stall in the market square.
Gold Beetle #19
Location: Cattleracket Road, Martira
Prerequisites: Talk to the Elderly Entomophile Beetle Merchant down at Port Brilehaven in Arenafront Wharf.
Then you need to head over to Cattleracket Road, where you will find the Gold Beetle near the stacks of hay.
Gold Beetle #20
Location: Stairstone Market, Martira
Prerequisites: Talk to the Elderly Entomophile Beetle Merchant down at Port Brilehaven in Arenafront Wharf.
Now head to MesmerEyes Apothecary in the staircase market, interact with the bags of spice next to the stairs.
Gold Beetle #21 and #22
Location: Tomb of Lament, Principality of Oceana
Quest: Grieving Ghost of the Goblet Bounty
The bounty will take you to the Tomb of Lament.
- On the first floor, take the stairs to the east. Once you arrive at the second floor, make your way to the tiny space northeast of the map. Just go through the small hole down at the wall to get into the closed-off space. Here you will find the first Gold Beetle.
- From the first Gold Beetle location, make your way to the exit on the northwest of the map. After pulling the lever, you will find the second Gold Beetle east of the map next to a locked door.
Gold Beetle #23
Location: Forsaken Tower, Principality of Oceana
Quest: Superior Scrimshaw
- The first step, talk to the craftsman in Merchant’s Baazar in Port Brilehaven to kick off the quest “Superior Scrimshaw.”
- The next objective is to buy the intel “Fiend of the Forsaken Tower” from the informant in Brilehaven. It will cost you 1800 Reeves. Now pack your bags and leave for Forsaken Tower.
Once you are in the Forsaken Tower, you will find the Gold Beetle next to the railings in the middle.

Location: Goblin’s Nest, Calendula Region
Quest: The New King of the Imps Bounty
Head to Martira’s Recruitment Center, and here pick up The New King of the Imps Bounty. Once you are in the Goblin’s Nest, here you will find the Gold Beetle all the way northwest of the map, next to trees.

Location: Village of Pagans, Inn Well, Virga Island
You will find the Gold Beetle here right near the statues next to palm trees, next to the Inn.
Gold Beetle #26
Location: Village of Pagans, Inn Well, Virga Island
Here move to the Tavern on the west of the map, you will find the Gold Beetle behind the tavern.
Gold Beetle #27 & #28
Location: Sandy Coast, Virga Island
Head west of the map, climb the ladder, and you will find the first Gold Beetle to your right behind the guard. Now climb down the ladder, and go behind the Dragon Statue via ramp on the side. You will find the second Gold Beetle next to the talking NPCs.
Gold Beetle #29
Location: Inn Well, Virga Island
Have a conversation with the Clumsy boy around the well in the middle, just in front of the Inn. He will hand you a free, no side quest, no money charged Gold Beetle!
Gold Beetle #30
Location: Land of Ceremony
Quest: The Trial of Malnova Quest
- First, in the Inn Well section on Virga Island, talk to Eupha near the well. Here you will trigger “The Trial of Malnova ” questline. It will take you to the Land of Ceremoney, Malnova Archipelago dungeon.
- From the entrance, take the exit straight ahead. On the next floor, take the stairs all the way down south.
- Now, take the stairs located west of the map. In the next map, take the stairs to the floor down southwest of the map, right in the corner.
- Here take the stairs up in the middle of the map. Take the exit straight, no twists and turns.
That’s it, you will find the Gold Beetle corner of the first section, north of the map, behind the archway.
Gold Beetle #31 & #32
Location: Orbwise Path
Quest: Save the Mourning Snakes
In the Village of Pagans, Virga island, talk to Junah to kick off the quest “Save the Mourning Snakes.”
From the entrance, take the exit northeast of the map. and then turn left, you will find the Gold Beetle in the corner of the room. Now turn around, and jump off the ledge on the left. Here you will find the Gold Beetle next to the rocks northeast of the map.

Location: Scoundrel’s Hold
Quest: The Greater One-Eyed Scoundrel Bounty
Head over to the Recruitment Center in Grand Trad and pick up the bounty “The Greater One-Eyed Scoundrel.”
- From the entrance, take the ladder the north of the map. Now on the next map, head to the exit in the middle. You will have to take the small hole next to the wall to get into the room.
- Now take the ladder down south. Climb up the ladder, follow the linear path and you will find the Gold Beetle on your left.

Location: Gracia Forest
Tak to the Exhausted Woman near Angler’s Inn Square, next to the river to start off the quest “Soldier’s Solace Quest.” In the Gracia Forest, make your way to the northeast of the map. You will find the Gold Beetle in the corner of the room.
Gold Beetle #35 & #36
Location: Altabury Heights, Lunlumo Approach
You will find the first Gold Beetle on the sidewalk to the right, next to the street lamp. Now keep walking on the street to the north, then take the small staircase to the right. You will find the second Gold Beetle near the wooden barrels.
Gold Beetle #37
Location: Upper Blue Sky Bridge, Altabury Heights
Take left from the bridge, and you will find the Gold Beetle under the archway next to the trees.
Gold Beetle #38
Location: Whitepeaks Magic Shop, Altabury Heights
Head over to Whitepeaks Magic Shops in Altabury Heights, by taking the long stairwell from the Blue Sky Bridge. Once you are inside the shop, head over to the pot next to a small glass house. Check the pot to find the Gold Beetle.

Location: Opera House Square, Altabury Heights
Head all the way to the end of the bridge, you will find the Gold Beetle to your left next to the guard.
Gold Beetle #40
Location: Lower Dia Franco Street, Altabury Heights
Head over to the Skyward Tavern, northeast of the map. Once inside turn to the right, here you will find the Gold Beetle next to the open barrel corner of the room.
Gold Beetle #41
Location: Upper Blue Sky Bridge, Altabury Heights
Here talk to Gentle Merchant to get the Deliver Hot Spring Water quest. Collect a “Vial With Hot Spring Water” x1 from the Hot Spring in Altabury Heights, take the stairway down from the bridge to get to the location. Once you have the item talk to the Gentle Merchant again to finish the quest and get a Gold Beetle as a reward.

Location: Mt. Vulkano
Quest: Wayward Shepherd Quest
Requirements: Eupha Rank 5/ Eloquence Level 4
Talk to Eupha in VIrga Island to kick off Wayward Shepherd Quest, it will take you to Mt. Vulkano.
- Take the ladder located southeast of the floor. On the next floor, you will find the Gold Beetle north region of the floor.

Location: Everfrost Forest
Quest: The Fiend in the Frozen Forest Bounty
Head over to the Recruitment Center in Altabury Heights and grab the Fiend in the Frozen Forest Bounty. It will direct you to the Everfrost Forest location, where you will find the Gold Beetle southwest of the dungeon.

Location: Tower of Insolence
Quest: Proof of Power Quest
- First, you need to talk to the Obsessive Solider next to the stairs in Opera House Square in Altabury Heights to kick off the Proof of Power quest.
- The next step is to get the “Giant of the Tower of Insolence “note from the informant in Altabury Tavern. It’s going to cost you 3000 Reeves, buy the item, and now we take a trip to Tower of Insolence.
- Here you will find the Gold Beetle next to the railing in the center.
Gold Beetle #45 (Missable)
Location: Ancient Eldan Sanctum, Plaza of Light
You will find the Gold Beetle east of the map next to a broken house.
Note: This Gold Beetle is highly missable because you travel to the Ancient Eldan Sanctum only once, so beest to make it count on your first visit and grab the Gold Beetle.

Location: Disgraced Ruins
Quest: The Apostle of the Apocalypse Bounty
Travel to the Recruitment Center in Grand Trad and pick up the Apostle of the Apocalypse Bounty off the board. It will take you to the Disgraced Ruins Dungeon. Once you enter the dungeon, make your way to the left and you will find the Gold Beetle on the floor underneath the archway.

Location: Spire of Blind Faith
Quest: Peak Curiosity Quest
- Talk to a Dejected man on Virga Island to start the Peak Curiosity Quest. And then head inside Golden Deer Hearth Tavern, here talk to the informant and buy the “Phantom Avian of the Spire” for 2,500 Reeves.
- The next step is to visit the Spire of Blind Faith dungeon, you will find the Gold Beetle right away near the large circle hall.
Gold Beetle #48
Location: Manor of the Ascendant
Quest: The Cockatrice in the Clouds Bounty
Head to the Recruitment Center in Grand Trad and grab the Cockatrice in the Clouds bounty. It will take you to the Manor of the Ascendant dungeon, here take the ladder up northwest of the floor. On the second floor, you will find the Gold Beetle north of the floor, go through the small hole on the right of the location to enter the secluded zone.

Location: Abandoned Path
Quest: The Incarnate in the Woods Bounty
Talke to the Recruiter Dispatcher in Grand Trad, and pick up the Incarnate in the Woods bounty. It will send us to the Abandoned Path dungeon. Once inside the dungeon, you will find the Gold Beetle directly north of the dungeon.

Location: Virga Island, Sandy Beach
Head to the Gauntlet Runner northeast of the map, you will find the Gold Beetle on the beach next to the crates.
Congratulations, now you have collected all the Gold Beetle in the game.
Note: All the Gold Beetles you have gathered will carry over to the New Game Plus, so you will not have to hunt them over again.
