The Forever Winter takes you on a post-apocalyptic journey through robot infested lands and enemies at every corner. There are a few quests that will take you around the dangerous zones of the game, and will have some difficult tasks to complete to get the rewards. During the Whispers Beneath The Thunder mission, you have to help the civilians trapped within the hangar in Elephant Mausoleum and help them escape.

The Forever Winter Elephant Mausoleum Hangar Location
Start from the Ruins Entrance waypoint in Elephant Mausoleum and make your way north (N285). You will reach the trenches on the other side.
Head over there and continue down N285 on your compass, and eventually you will reach a dead end. On your left is an upward slope, get up there, go around the path, and go down.
You will find some metal bars you can climb on top of and cross the platform. Follow the path to the left side, then go up the slope on your right and climb atop the stone wall.
Continue north and you will find the hangar. The entrance to the inside of the hangar is on the right side of the main hangar entrance (NW240).
How To Help Civilians Escape In Elephant Mausoleum Hangar
Continue down the passage and you will find the entrance to the civilian hideout on your left. Don’t jump down just yet, rather wait for the soldiers patrolling the area to leave or fight the mecha. Once they are far away, exit the door but don’t jump down immediately. Go a bit to the left side while walking on top of the pipes, then jump down when you see the platform below you so you can avoid taking damage.
Walk up to each civilian to free them, then wait for the Completed quest marker to appear beside the quest objective. It might take a while, so find someplace to hide out for a bit to avoid detection. Once the quest is completed, you can safely use the extraction point just behind the hangar to complete the mission.
Most missions in The Forever Winter just require a bit of patience and plenty of stealth to make your way across. Or if you are brave enough you can just fight your way to the destination. Either way, you have now freed the civilians from the Elephant Mausoleum hangar and, thus, completed the Whispers Beneath The Thunder mission in The Forever Winter.
