Xenoblade Chronicles X returns in a brand new edition, where you have to rebuild society on planet Mira while meeting new foes and making new friends. There are tons of quests you can pick up to learn more about the tasks at hand, and ultimately you will be required to locate and collect items for certain NPCs. During the quest The Repair Job, you need to collect White Cometite and bring them over to Lin. This guide will cover how to do just that in Xenoblade Chronicles X.

The best places to check out for White Cometites are around FN sites in Primordia, Oblivia, and Noctilum. The earliest you can find this material is at FN Site 115 in Primordia. Head over to Northpointe Cove’s beach and place a Mining Probe to quickly scan and collect any White Cometites nearby. Another site you can check out is FN Site 118, also in Primordia. There is a cave within a mountain located in North Janpath Plain which is another great place to set up a Mining Probe.

Finally, you can head over to FN Site 318 in Oblivia if you didn’t have much luck elsewhere. The mining area you should locate here is just east of a large circular formation near East Ibra Ravine. Just set up your Mining Probe and wait till all the required amount of White Cometites are farmed to complete the quest. Besides these locations, you can also check out the following areas.

    • Primordia: FN110, FN118, FN115
    • Noctilum: FN207, FN219, FN212, FN218
    • Oblivia: FN303, FN307, FN318

Something that you need to note is collecting White Cometites is a random occurrence and will depend on RNG. You might have to set up several mining spots and have them automatically collect this material while you are out and about in the game. This is more like a waiting game, so you might have to check periodically to know if you have collected sufficient White Cometites for the quest.

Remember, you must collect 5 White Cometites as part of The Repair Job quest, and hand them over to Lin. You unlock this quest in Chapter 3 after completing the Builders of a Legacy quest and also gain 1 heart on Lin’s character. Lin will then tell you about her suspicions about the energy loss happening in the area, and she will require certain items to help determine whether her suspicions are true. Other items are not that difficult to find, the hardest ones are in fact the White Cometites, which hopefully this guide would have helped you locate.
