If you’re a fan of Aoe control and inflicting damage over time effects with your abilities, then Cryomancer is the perfect class for you in Dungeonborne. Although it’s not as flashy as the Pyromancer, in the right hands, the class can dish out a truckloads of damage whether you’re playing solo or as a group. In this guide, we have put up the ultimate Cryomancer build in Dungeonborne. Let’s get started!
Ultimate Crymancer Build For Solo Players In Dungeonborne
Cryomancer isn’t really the best hero if you want to nuke down the enemy. The class is more about patience and positioning, inflicting DoT damages, and whittling away your enemy’s health. Ideally, you want to keep your distance since it’s pretty easy for you to go down.
Best Passives:
You should first reach 31 Dexterity to unlock Permafrost. Then, you want to get Frostbite and finally invest 45 points into Will to unlock Cryotherapy.
Here are the passives that you want to pick up:
- Permafrost: This passive requires 31 Dexterity and will restore your Soul Energy by 2 when you deal critical damage.
- Frostbite: Frostbite requires 59 Intelligence, increasing the damage you deal in the first phase of your Frostbite Curse and Ice Storm by 50%.
- Cryotherapy: When you deal cold damage, you’ll gain stacks of Cyro therapy. Consuming the stacks will allow you to recover 0.5 HP per stack when you use Ice Armor or Frost Barrier. It requires 45 Will.
Permafrost is the Cryomancer’s bread and butter. Since this is an Undead class, you’ll need Soul Energy to cast your spells. With Permafrost, you’ll always have enough Soul Energy to get off your Ice Storm of Frostbite Curse.
Best Skills
The two best spells for Cryomencer in Dungeonborn are Ice Storm and Frost Barrier:
- Ice Storm (Q): Ice Storm is your main damage spell. It deals damage in a small AOE and also slows enemies by 40% while you channel it. After casting, it deals bonus damage and slows.
- Frost Barrier (E): Frost Barrier is your main defensive spell, making you completely immune to enemy damage for 8 seconds. With the Cryotherapy passive, you’ll also restore your HP when you cast it.
Ultimate Crymancer Build For Group Players In Dungeonborne
When you’re playing with a party, you don’t have to focus as much on damage. You can instead stand behind your damage dealer, like Fighter or Death Knight, and use your abilities to control the tempo and buff up your ally.
Best Passives:
Like before, you want to unlock Permafrost and Frostbite first, but after that, you should go for Bone Chilling.
- Permafrost: Permafrost is a no-brainer on Cryomancer since you’ll be relying a lot on getting your spells off. With this passive, you’ll always have Soul Energy to work with to keep casting your abilities.
- Frostbite: Although you don’t have to be the main damage dealer, Frostbite’s 59 intelligence lets you make clutch plays with your Ice Storm.
- Bone Chilling: Once you reach 49 Will, unlock Bone Chilling. This passive boosts your damage by a certain percentage, depending on how far away you are from the enemy. At the maximum range (15 meters), your Ice Storm damage increases by 30%.
Bone Chilling is an extremely powerful passive if you can play from a distance. Since you’re playing with a party, use the space to cast Ice Storm from afar.
Best Skills
With a party, Crymencer takes on a support role. The skill build is the same, but the way you play is slightly different. That means you’ll still want to get Ice Storm and Ice Barrier. However, this time, you want to try to use it on your ally who’s tanking the main damage from the enemy while you keep your distance and cast Ice Storm every chance you get.
Frostbite Curse is a nice alternative if you don’t want to use Ice Storm. It’s easier to use since it’s a targeted ability. But since it doesn’t inflict AOE damage, you might not be able to affect multiple enemies.
Gear Choice for Cryomancer
The best thing about Cryomancer is that it doesn’t rely on weapons or gear. You can just put on anything you have, and it’ll still work wonders for this build. The only high-level gear we have with our Cryomancer is the Mystic Expert Fire Staff, but you’ll have no issue going in with weaker gear. Prioritize gears that boost your movement speed, experience gain, and defense, and you should be fine.
