1. Brawler
Location: Bastione San Marco area, The Vatican
Adventure Points to Unlock: 200
Where to Find: You will find it in a box before you meet Antonio in the main story.
Hands out, we have to go with Brawler first. When you are at the initial phase of the game, hitting hard will become a life savior. Dealing some decent damage at the beginning of the game will save your life and prepare you for what’s about to come. On its whole Brawler is a C-tier skill but when you are starting out in the game, it will be worth the investment.
2. Shaping Up
Location: Vatican Post Office/ Gizeh Workers Area/ Sukhothai Medical Hut
Where to Find: You will have to exchange medical bottles to obtain them.
Now that offense is taken care of, it’s time to think about being able to take a hit. The Shaping Up book will help Indy take more beating before going down. You will have to spend 5 medicine bottles but the book will help you out immensely in the long run. Being able to take more damage never hurts at the beginning or at the later stage in the game.
3. Throttle
Location: Borgia Courtyards, The Vatican
Adventure Points to Unlock: 200
Where to Find: Finish A Nun in Trouble to unlock it.
Indy is equipped with his classic whip but without the right skill it is useless. Throttle is the best skill for the whip, as it allows Indy to knock out heavy to medium enemies with a whip pull. If you are going all stealth, then having the Throttle skill will make the journey stealthier without raising the alarm on all corners.
4. Pep
Location: Belvedere Courtyard, The Vatican
Adventure Points to Unlock: 275
Where to Find: Located in a tent within the Belvedere Courtyard.
All the punching comes with a cost, and the cost is your stamina bar. More stamina will help you last longer in combat scenes. And that is where this book called Pep comes to the party, as it helps improve stamina recovery speed. If your gameplay is all about whip and punch, then you must get this book first.
5. Climbing Ace
Location: Borgia Courtyard, The Vatican
Adventure Points to Unlock: 100
Where to Find: You will find it on your way to the Vatican City Post Office, passing the old man eating at a table.
Since it is an Indiana Jones game, you will be climbing a lot, while it might not seem much at the beginning. But as you progress, you will soon find out you will be doing a lot of climbing on ledges, which drains stamina. Having the Climbing Ace books allows you to move quickly without losing too much of your stamina.
6. Lucky Hat
Location: Captain’s Room, The Vatican
Adventure Points to Unlock: 125
Where to Find: You will find it inside the Captain’s room, where you will find the Captain’s Key.
A second chance in life can be a tremendous experience, Lucky Hat allows Indy to take another chance at the fight. It has a cooldown and a requirement, where the hat only works if Indy has his Adventure Outfit. This survival book will come in very handy in the earlier parts of the game, where you are slowly adapting to the game’s mechanics.
7. Splinter Smash
Location: Belvedere Courtyards, The Vatican
Adventure Points to Unlock: 300
Where to Find: Located in a chest inside a tent within Belvedere Courtyard.
During combat, if you are one of those players who likes to throw everything at the enemy.
