Surviving the robotic apocalypse might not be for everyone, but in The Forever Winter, that is literally your goal. You and your friends have to brave the dangers of the war and learn to make it to another day. During the start of your journey, your goal is to get your basic needs met. So that might include getting a place to stay, a stable supply of food, and most importantly, water. Unfortunately, there are only a few places where you can farm water in the game, so it might seem a bit impossible at first. But since water does spawn in somewhat fixed locations and in this guide, we have listed out the best places to find water in The Forever Winter.
Best Places To Find Water In The Forever Winter
The Cemetry area in Scorched Enclave, and the Elevator area in the Mech Trenches are your best bets to find water in The Forever Winter. Water has a higher chance of spawning within these areas, but if you don’t find them here, then you can keep exploring the region and you might find it in a different location.
Scorched Enclave, Cemetry
The Cemetery within the Scorched Enclave region does have a barrel of water you can loot. To find the right spot, from the Cemetery checkpoint, continue straight for a bit. On your left, you will notice a large tower with a spotlight on top. You need to make your way over to the tower to find water. But the area below is swarming with enemies, so you need to stealth your way over there.
Once you reach the tower, climb up and head inside to find a water barrel. If you don’t find one here, then head down and keep to your left. Jump down towards the wall with the words S-14F graffitied on it and you might get a water barrel there.
If you can’t find any water there either, then the last place you can check is just up ahead, in the central area. You will usually find water within any of these three places, or you can check out any nearby bunker to get water.
Mech Trenches, Elevator
The second most popular place to get water is within the Elevator area of the Mech Trenches region. From the waypoint, head straight till you find a flight of stairs leading up. Go up and open the door on your left. Follow the passage and go down the stairs after the patrol squad has left, and head straight down the corridor while keeping to your right.
You will come across a lit area with body bags on the floor, just go past that. Once you reach the end of the room, look around for a loot crate and a water barrel nearby.
Other Ways To Get Water In The Forever Winter
You can get water while completing quests, exploring bunkers, and sometimes by looting crates and dead enemies. Whenever you are out exploring, look for any source of water and try to collect it to add it to the Water Management Station at your base.
Pro Tip: Water and most resources do get consumed even if you don’t log into the game, so consumption of water will happen even in your absence.
