Most of the best armors are found inside the tombs in Tainted Grail. The Royal Geographer quest has us hunting down different tombs in three different areas in the game. This guide will go through finding all 5 Knight’s Tombs for the Royal Geographers quest in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon.
All 5 Knights’ Tombs For Royal Geographers Quest
We have listed out the location for each one along with its requirements to help you find them easily without any annoyance.
- Tomb of Sir Gawain
- Tomb of Sir Dagonet
- Tomb of the Knight
- Tomb of Sir Galahad
- Tomb of Sir Lancelot
Tomb of Sir Gawain
Location: Fast travel to Wyrd Tower west of the Cuanacht map. You will find the Tomb of Sir Gawain northeast of the Wyrd Tower.
Requirement: Shield of Palamedes, Completing the Shield of Avalon main questline.
Boss Fights: Sir Bertilak and Sir Gawain
Head inside the tomb and go all the way to the end. You will come face to face with Sir Bertilak. Here you are left with two options: either to fight or take some time to prepare. Challenge Sir Bertilak to a duel and defeat him to get all of his armor set. Once defeated, loot his corpse to get the Green Knight Helm, Sabaton, Chestplate, Greaves, Axe, and Cloak.
Defeating Sir Bertilak will awaken Sir Gawain on the stairs. He will be a tougher opponent; defeat him to get the Oath of Famine, Sir Gawain’s Weathered gauntlet, Cuirass, Sabatons, and Helm.
When you get out of the tomb, you will meet Fionola for the first time. Have a conversation with her to learn more about the tomb before moving on to the next tomb on the line.
Tomb of Sir Dagonet
Location: Fast travel to Forlorn Gate northeast of the Cuanacht map. Now start walking northwest of the Forlorn Gate to find the Tomb of Sir Dagonet.
Requirement: Shield of Palamedes, Completing the Shield of Avalon main questline.
Boss Fight: None
Interact with the activator in front of the door to open it. Now you can head inside the Tomb of Sir Dagonet. Follow the route of the tomb, and it will take you to an open casket in the middle. Here you will find a note telling you to take everything. Unlike the last tomb, here you don’t have to defeat anyone, just simply loot the corpse and get out. Here you will get the Last Jest armor set.
Once you head outside, you will meet Fionola for the second time to discuss the Tomb of Sir Dagonet.
Tomb of the Knight
Location: You have to venture east of Forlorn Swords to find the Tomb of the Knight.
Requirement: Crown, Completing the Crown of Ashes main questline.
Boss Fight: None
Activate the submerged pillar on the left to open the door to the Tomb of the Knight. Once inside, turn right and you will find Govannon the blacksmith. He will give you the task of recovering his Chisel. Now get out of the room and head left of the tomb’s entrance point.
Make your way to the end of the tomb, and you will find Sir Vast. Accept his challenge, and defeat him at his summoning. Now you can summon Sir Vast to help you in combat. Now head through the hole next to Sir Vast to go further below the tomb. Follow the objective marker, and you will reach a small casket guarded by an Abandoned Warrior. Defeat the warrior and loot the Govannon Chisel from his corpse.
Now make your way back to the Govannon spot to return the Chisel and complete his task. You will receive: Ashen Veil Hood, Robes, Greaves, and Boots. Get out of the tomb to meet Fionola for the third time.
Tomb of Sir Galahad
Location: Head north of Forlorn Swords to get the Tomb of Sir Galahad.
Requirement: Crown, Completing the Crown of Ashes main questline
Boss Fight: Sir Galahad
Head inside the Tomb of Sir Galahad by pressing the activator on the right of the entrance. Once you are at the end of the tomb, you will face Galahad after a brief conversation. Defeat him and loot his corpse to get: Galahad’s Mace, Sir Galahad’s Gauntlets, Gauntlets, Chestplate, Sabatons, and Helmet. Head outside to meet with Fionola for the fourth time to discuss the Tomb of Sir Galahad.
Tomb of Sir Lancelot
Location: Travel south of the Horns of the South map to get to the Tomb of Sir Lancelot. You will find the location northeast of the Peninsula’s fast travel point.
Requirement: Excalibur, completing The Hollow Blade main questline.
Boss Fight: None
Swim to the land, press the activator to get inside the Tomb of Sir Lancelot. Make your way to the tomb, and you will find a ghost NPC, Lancelot, sitting on the stairs. He will not talk to us until we defeat the enemies in the area. Defeat the Squires in the area to talk to Lancelot. After you have a conversation with him, interact with the Tomb of Sir Lancelot behind him.
It will transport us to a different world, where our job is to take out the Arondight spear from a petrified statue. Once you take the Arondight spear off the statue, you will get transported back to the previous area. Here, talk to Lancelot, show him the Arondight. After a brief conversation, interact with the tomb to loot all the items: Sir Lancelot’s helm, Chestplate, Vambraces, Greaves, and Sabatons.
You will get to keep Arondight along with the rest of the rewards. Now you will talk to Fionola for the fifth and final time.
