The Other Side is one of the interesting main quests in the Shattered Space DLC storyline. Our goal is to find Anasko trapped inside the cave. That’s all the clue we have for the quest, we have to figure out the route and the location to continue the quest. There are two phases to the quest we will cover in the guide. First, we will guide you on how to find the Anomalous Cave and the next bit about the quest will revolve around finding Anasko Va’ruun inside.
Investigate The Anomalous Cave In Shattered Space
The Anomalous cave is located northeast of the mountain structure east of Dazra city in Va’ruun’kai.
- Once you are inside Dazra city in Va’ruun’kai, speak to Inaza to kick off the quest The Other Side, only then the game mission log will update the objective to Investigate the Anomalous Cave.
- If you look far east side of Dazra city, you will find a Mountain-type structure covering the land. That is where we are supposed to go, here you will find the Anomalous Cave. While it may look direct, you need to travel around the mountain to get to the cave entrance.
Pro Tip: Since it’s a Bethesda game, and we all played Skyrim before, you can try to shortcut the route by heading straight but you will need to do a lot of precise platforming to make it to the other side.
- While your original location will start off in the main city, the location of the cave sits far east of the Dazra city map. Jump off the floor, and follow the objective marker, it will guide you around the city to the cave at the east.
Bug Alert: The mission markers helpfully point out the proper way to the cave but many players have complained of seeing their marker stuck in one place. The game only puts the Cave marker on the map once you are close to the cave. You must get to the cave without markers located northeast side of the mountain or reload the game. Once you reach the cave, the marker will automatically update. Basically force the game to continue the quest.
- On your way to the cave, you will encounter Hopeless Vortex Phantom enemies, they do hit hard, so prepare for some battle or you can always dodge out of their way to get to the destination. If you come across any ledge, use the boost ability to get over them, you can also use the boost over enemies as well.
- Many of the enemies will be waiting by the road, here you can take the high ground to avoid every one of them without wasting any bullets or risking your health.
Once you are near the cave, clear out the enemies around it, then enter the cave to begin the second phase of the quest.
Find Anasko Va’ruun In Anomalous Cave
Here we will have to find Anasko Va’ruun inside the cave.
- The second you enter the cave, you will hear Anasko Va’ruun chanting, head straight, then go down the slope on the right. Eventually glowing Vortex Horrorling Spiders will start attacking you, it’s time for a battle. They are easy to kill but they move fast, make sure to kill them before they come close.
- Here keep heading straight. Move left to get to the proper route, while you can take the slope on the right to clean off more spiders.
Tip: The route inside the cave is fairly linear and direct but there are some dead-end zones, but they are not complicated, just a small area with spiders ready to spawn. While most of the area does look the same, even if you get lost just turn around and take the route that you haven’t taken before. One of the best ways we found in any Bethesda game is if the enemies spawn the second you step into the area, then you are on the correct route.
- You can get easily lost in the cave but in many dead ends, you will always find more glowing spider encounters, When you move to the left of the cave, you will find two routes branching out of one, take right but we advise you to kill all the spiders on the left. Again it’s a dead end but you will get some decent XP out of it.
- Eventually, you will reach an area with a giant hole in the middle, here take the route in the north, don’t jump down the hole to the floor below.
- Just climb the slope, cross the gap go down the entrance. Then move to the route on the right to get to the area where we will find Anasko Va’ruun chanting.
That’s it, now you can talk to Anasko to continue the next phase of the mission.
