During the early game, you might have to struggle a bit to make ends meet in Roadcraft. But later on, as you keep going, you can start finding new features that make things easier. One of the main concerns when it comes to road building is collecting ample sand for construction. There are two features you can use to collect sand quicker, and this guide will cover how to use the field service vehicle and mobile recovery point in Roadcraft.
Field Service Vehicle and Mobile Recovery Points Explained

The Field Service Vehicle essentially acts as a checkpoint, and you can use up your Mobile Recovery Points to shift any vehicle towards the checkpoint to spawn into an area quickly. Depending on where you need to get work done, you can move your Field Service Vehicle to the location. The Field Service Vehicle can recall any deployed vehicle around the area, and it will automatically spawn right beside it.
You can also recall vehicles from the garage to make it spawn beside you. But each time you do any of these two methods, you will use up one Mobile Recovery Point. You can replenish points by playing all the side quests and getting them as rewards. So keep that in mind anytime you use the Field Service Vehicle to redeploy any of your existing vehicles from the road or garage.
Using the Field Service Vehicle to Get Sand

With whatever Mobile Recovery Points you have left, you can utilize it to gather sand and not waste fuel traveling back and forth from the quarry. Just follow the steps below to get sand easily and quickly.
- If you have your dump truck out in the open, empty whatever sand it has on it and send it to a nearby garage.
- You can use the Recover option to have it spawn into a garage quickly.
- Next, retain the dump truck through the garage menu, then re-deploy the truck. You will notice that the dump truck is now filled with sand.
- After that, place your Field Service Vehicle within the area where you want to offload the sand to.
- Select the now-filled dump truck from the garage and press the Recover button again.
- Select the Field Service Vehicle from the drop-down menu on the left.
- You can also use the Recall option from the Field Service Vehicle to get the truck to spawn nearby.
- Your dump truck will now spawn beside it, fully loaded with sand.
- Offload the sand and repeat the above steps till all your recovery points are exhausted.
