There are a handful of hidden quests to check out while playing Path of Exile 2. You might easily miss some of them, but most of the time they will appear once you pick up a quest item by chance while exploring. During your adventuring in Act 3, you will likely come across a random Idol inside some of the main quest areas. Picking it up will start a strange Idols quest, and you might be wondering what it all means. We have all the answers in this guide on the Idols Quest in Path of Exile 2.
How To Start The Idols Quest In Path Of Exile 2
You start the Idols quest in Path Of Exile 2 when you pick up any one of the six idols around Utzaal and Aggorat. Out of the 6, there is a very high chance (at least it was for us) that you will first come across the Golden Idol inside Napauatzi’s Quarters in Utzaal, in Act 3.
How To Complete The Idols Quest In Path Of Exile 2
Once you have picked up the Golden Idol, you have to find the remaining idols to complete the quest. The next two places to go and pick up idols in Utzaal are Azcapa’s Quarters and Uromoti’s Quarters. You will get the Grand Idol and Glorious Idol in these two places, bringing your total Idol count to 3, so three more to go.
Now, all that is left is to clear Utzaal by defeating Viper Napuatzi at the end of the area and gain entry to Aggorat. Inside Aggorat, the game, like for a lot of items, requires you to explore and defeat a specific enemy type to get an item drop. In this case, you have to farm the Elite enemies for the Exquisite Idol, Elegant Idol, and Exceptional Idol this way.
What To Do With The Idols In Path Of Exile 2?
These idols will take up a lot of your inventory space and weigh you down, so it is best to get rid of them as you get them. Make your way to Ziggurat Encampment and talk to Oswald, the main merchant in the camp. You can trade with him by buying his wares or selling yours, so go ahead and sell all the Idols you acquired. Each Idol type will give you varying amounts of gold, as listed below.
- Golden Idol and Exquisite Idol – 500 Gold
- Grand Idol and Elegant Idol – 1,000 Gold
- Glorious Idol and Exceptional Idol – 1,500 Gold
This is a quick way to farm some gold if you are short on cash. But you cannot farm these idols again, and once you sell them, they are gone for good. There’s no other use for them, so you might as well get rid of them to get rich quickly. There is another hidden quest you can pick up in Path of Exile 2 Act 3 called the Mushroom quest, and you can check out our guide on that to help you out.
