The Carnival of Doom is one of the more interesting side quests in Once Human that will have you playing a game of Russian roulette against a character named Chuckles. However, Chuckles is cheating, and it’s impossible to win unless you figure out how he’s doing it or you start cheating as well.

Where to Find Chuckles in Once Human
To find Chuckles and his Carnival of Doom, you need to head to the Rift Anchor Junkyard. It’s located in the southwestern part of the map, at coordinates (3585, -7065). Once you’re in the junkyard, look for warehouse number 17.
Inside the warehouse, you’ll find a glowing revolver. Interact with it to trigger a cutscene and meet Chuckles, who will then present you with his deadly challenge. Be sure to be at least level 19 before heading into this area, as the enemies can be quite tough.
How to Beat Chuckles the Clown At Roulette
Chuckles cannot be beaten in a fair game. No matter what you do, you’ll always lose. This is because Chuckles is cheating in the game of Russian Roulette.
However, while you cannot win, you can still complete the quest. The goal of the Carnival of Doom quest isn’t to win the game against Chuckles, but to progress through the story and uncover the secrets behind the carnival.
Here’s what you need to do:
- Scan the Room: Use your character’s “Mayfly senses” by pressing Q to thoroughly scan the warehouse. V will then ask you if you’ve noticed a weird black wire. You’ll find that a black wire is connected to the revolver.
- Follow the Wire: Trace the wire to another room where you’ll find another clown helping Chuckles cheat. Make sure to see the second clown hiding behind the glass pane in the control room. This will trigger a dialog with V.
- Open The Big Door: Get back to Chuckles and trigger the “I need some fresh air” dialog and this should open the large red door behind you.
- Eliminate The Other Clown: Now go to the other side of the glass wall and you will see the second clown hunched over a terminal back here. Since, he’s only level 5, you can easily kill him with a melee weapon. Kill the second clown and interact with the terminal in front of him. This will disable the rigged system.
- Confront Chuckles Once Again: Return to Chuckles and challenge him again. Now that the cheat is disabled, you have a fair chance of winning. Choose to pull the trigger yourself, and you’ll emerge victorious.
Once he’s been defeated, you will get the rewards.
What Are The Rewards of Carnival of Doom Quest?
For completing the rigged game and defeating Chuckles, you’ll receive a Crumble sniper rifle with a special status effect. Although it’s only blue rarity, this tier 2 weapon is powerful enough to help you in several boss fights. It’s already crafted and ready to use immediately.
