Nightreign has been marketed as a coop RPG, where you work together with your friends and take down all the bosses that you will encounter. But, there is a way to play solo as well, if you want to experience the region of Limveld on your own. This guide will explain how to play Nightreign as a solo player, and the process to do so is pretty simple.
How to Play Nightreign Solo

To start playing solo, head over to the Roundtable Hold and interact with the Roundtable. You will open up the Expeditions menu, and below it are a couple of options. Select the option for Matchmaking Settings, then scroll all the way down to change the Expedition Type from multiplayer to single player. This option is available for players who wish to play offline and online. Don’t forget to pick your preferred class or change your class before stepping into solo play.
You can always return to the Roundtable Hold and change from single player to multiplayer anytime. But exploring Limveld as a solo player can help you better understand how things work, especially if you are new to the world of Elden Ring. Boss fights do get challenging as a single player, as you have to face them on your own. But their HP does get scaled down considerably to keep solo play in mind. This way, you still get to experience the challenges of multiplayer, but within your skillset.
All Changes in Single Player
While you will find a significant change in the health of the enemies, their attack strength and attack patterns will not change. If the boss is meant to have multiple allies with them in multiplayer, then you will get the same deal in single player as well. The only other thing that is a bit unique to solo play is purchasing an item called Wending Grace. You can visit any merchant within Limveld to collect this item, and using it will help resurrect you if you are downed. This is the only way to get back up, since you won’t have your allies to help resurrect you.
One of the first things to do when you start your journey in Limveld is to increase the number of flasks, and we have a guide here that helps you out with exactly that.
