In a galaxy far, far away, Star Wars Outlaws brings special characters to help you along with your journey. One of the game’s amazing systems is the Expert Mechanics, where Kay has to find special characters from the Star Wars Universe to help her gain new abilities. The quest The Mechanic comes from the special character ‘Selo The Mechanic’. Here’s a guide on where to find Atmospheric Accelerator to finish the quest.
Guide to Finding Atmospheric Accelerator in Star Wars Outlaws
Following Danka’s intel will lead Kay to a cantina in Jaunta’s Hope. After talking to the bartender, you will find the location of Selo ‘The Mechanic’ near the cliff in Jaunta’s Hope. Here our Expert Quest “The Mechanic” begins, our objective here is to ‘Find the Atmospheric Accelerator’, completing it will enable the Speed Boost ability for the speeder.
- Selo will send you to Boulder Forest, but not with an empty hand. She will hand you the Magnetic Disruptor. This device will help us Break into the Wind Facility. Get on the Speeder and travel to the Wind Facility. You can’t miss it, once you get there, a giant massive fan will be blocking our path.
- Here you pull out the Magnetic Disruptor to turn the fan off, now you can get inside without being chopped into pieces. The area inside is massive, so don’t try to walk, take the speeder with you.
- You will soon reach an area with two pathways, on the left, you will see a massive fan blowing the wind at your speeder, cross that off the list. With the left path being blocked off, turn right, and it will lead you directly to a bunker.
- After a few steps, you will come across a small room, with a force field blocking the entrance. Send in Nix to turn off the power to the force field. Once that disappears, you will see a small vent on the right side of the wall, crawl in there, and take the ladder to the top.
- You will soon find yourself in a room with two fans. The only way out of the room is to walk across the pipe, but be careful about the fans to your right. When you decide to walk, look at the fan, wait for the air to stop, then start walking.
- Head straight, jump down, and you will encounter another fan but this one doesn’t stop like the last fan. Use the Pulse Blaster to blow up the Yellow generator next to the fan. Now you can walk across, don’t jump, climb the fan grates to your left, it will take you to the other side of the room safely.
- Once you reach the platform, the path ahead is blocked by a fence, look to your right, and you will find metal bars on the wall marked with yellow paint. The route will take you to another giant fan with yellow-colored grates, and if you look down you will see a busted hole in the large pipe. Climb your way down to get into the pipe.
- The path inside the pipe is very linear, start walking, and eventually, you will find another hole below, to get out of the pipe, and jump down. Before moving to our destined route, by squeezing through the tight space, there is a container on the right side of the room, loot it, and you will get (Actuating Module x2).
- After you squeeze through the corridor, you will arrive at a massive area, a pure platforming section. The path here is linear, turn your right and start walking but watch out for the extruding walls, you don’t want to get pushed by them.
- This will take you to a climbing section with ‘yellow-painted’ fan grates blowing wind at you but there is a timer to them, so always wait and then move.
- Once you have made it, to the top, look at the small room behind you. Lockpick the locked container to get the Ray Accelerator x2. Go back to the platform, and look at the giant fan ahead of you, on the top of both sides of the fan, you will see two small yellow-colored generators powering it up. Use your blaster to blow both of them, to turn off the fan from moving. We are just a few steps away from the Atmospheric Accelerator.
Bug Alert: Sometimes blowing up the generators will not turn off the fan, here you will have to restart from the checkpoint to continue.
- Lost? You need to look up and use your Grappling Hook to the other side of the room. There’s no treasure inside the fan, there’s no reason to go in there. Before doing some platforming, enter the small room next to you, and pick up Chalcopyrite x1 (It will help you with your Silent Kit Upgrade).
- Once you have picked up the item, go back to the platform, and turn to your right, you will see Yellow Painted metal bars and fan grates, there is a time attached to the fan’s wind, so always wait, only climb after the wind is out of the fan.
- This will take you to a fairly linear route with a set of extruding walls, again wait for the walls to go back in, then start moving onwards. It will lead to the wall covered with grates, climb the grates to get to the top. You will land on a platform with a Silvian Iron material next to you, pick that up.
- Now we have to move ahead but there is no grappling hook or yellow-painted pipes. Here focus on industrial walls ahead of you. It’s two giant moving walls that protrude simultaneously, but after the first time, the lower half of the wall will slowly come out without bringing the top half, that’s your chance to make the jump.
Tip: Make sure the jump is precise, with Kay’s wobbly jumping animation, the chances of you falling if you land on the edge of the wall are immensely high.
- Phew, the difficult part is over, now just climb the yellow-painted pipes and grates, and make sure not to get blown by the fans. This will lead you to the vent above, go through the vent, climb the ladder, and you will be in a room with plenty of machines and computers.
- To the left of the machines, you will see a container, open it. Then press the interact button on the machines to extract the Atmospheric Accelerator. Once you have taken the item, the huge fans in the room that you can see from the glass window will stop moving. That’s our way out of this place.
- Go through the doorway to the left of the security room, use the Grappling Hook to get down, and then get inside the fan, after a short jog, you will see your speeder waiting for you. Hop on it, and exit the area. Talk to the Selo to finish the quest ‘The Mechanic‘.
- You will gain the Speed Boost for your speeder to cover short distances incredibly fast.
