During the starting point of Dynasty Warriors Origins, the only way you can get around on the map is on foot. Getting from place to place on foot is quite tedious, as it will take time to reach your destination. To counter that, you can get yourself a Horse to act as your mount. As you venture into the Chapters, you will sometimes encounter moments where you need to get to the Officers as fast as possible to save them. Without your horses, you would be out of time, so here we will give you a rundown on how to get a horse and all horses available in Dynasty Warriors Origins.
How To Get A Horse In Dynasty Warriors Origins
Your first order of business is to get yourself your starting horse, which you can do as early as Chapter 1. After completing the Test Of Zheng Fei and while on your way to the Battle Of Guangzong, you will encounter a merchant. This merchant will appear after you complete your conversation with Huang Gai, and can be spotted near Wan Castle, just northeast of the castle. He will be standing with his horse just before the campsite where you need to go. Talk to the merchant to get your starting horse.
All Horse Controls
While in the open world map, the only command you can perform on your horse is to ride it or dismount, but all other actions listed below should be performed during combat while on the horseback. Horses can be equipped under the Equipment tab, in the Battle Preparation section. Just select the empty Horse slot and equip the horse you desire. You can also swap horses in this section.

How To Level Up Horses
You can level up and gain XP on your horses by equipping and using them during missions and story-related battles. Even if you don’t ride it, as long as you have a horse in your equipped slot, it will continue to gain XP. You can further increase the amount of XP your horse can earn by using it in combat, and the longer they stay in combat, the more XP they gain. Attacking enemies with your horse will give them additional XP. Once you level up your horses, they can grant bonus buffs at different milestones. These buffs will vary from horse to horse, so you can try and level up each one to know what you get.
Besides owning horses, you would also require the best weapons in Dynasty Warriors Origins to help you win battles. We have a guide covering all weapons and how to unlock them that you can check out to know more.
