Many of the planets in No Man’s Sky are lifeless but others are full of various fauna just waiting to be discovered and even adopted. Even these alien creatures serve an important purpose in the game, which is to provide players with Faecium. Here is how you can use flora and fauna to get Faecium in No Man’s Sky.

How To Find Faecium in No Man’s Sky
There are two ways to obtain Faecium in No Man’s Sky; by feeding Creature Pellets to creatures on a planet and waiting for them to drop Faecium or by taking the help of a Farmer at your base and planting Gutrot Flowers through which Faecium will be extracted. Farming Faecium via these planets is still easier than farming something like Radon.
How to Get Faecium Through Feeding Creatures

Getting Faecium from feeding creatures in No Man’s Sky is the easier method out of the two but it won’t yield as much Faecium as the other method.
Here is how you can get Faecium by feeding creatures:
- Head to a planet that has some level of Fauna.
- Find creatures that preferably are not hostile.
- Gather some Carbon and craft Creature Pellets with it.
- Go near any creature and hold the interact button to feed them.
- Now simply wait until they drop Faecium, they will follow you around for a short while until this happens.
How to Get Faecium through Gutrot Flowers

Here is how you can get Faecium by extracting it from Gutrot Flowers:
- Set up a planetary or freighter base with a hired Farmer.
- Acquire Gutrot Seeds from the hired Farmer or the Space Anomaly for 3 Salvaged Data.
- Build a room where you can plant flowers like the Cultivation Chamber or place down Hydroponic Trays and plant the Gutrot Flower.
- Come back after 4 hours to extract 25x Faecium through the Gutrot Flower.
While these are the only two efficient and guaranteed methods to get Faecium in No Man’s Sky, it is also possible to get Faecium on rare occasions on some planets that have Faecium as a by-product in one of their flora like lush planets with floating islands. It can also be rarely found as a resource deposit on some Marsh-type planets.
