A lot of players in Path of Exile 2, new and veterans alike, are stuck at one part of the game where a sandstorm blocks your way ahead. This requires you to first get the Horn of Vastiri during Act 2 but even after getting that, some players report having no option to talk to the NPC or clear the sandstorm in any way. How To Get Horn Of Vastiri In Path Of Exile 2
You obtain the Horn of Vastiri in Path of Exile 2 by defeating Zalmarath in Titan Grotto during the “A Crown of Stone” quest and bringing the Flame Ruby dropped from him back to Zarka. This quest is a part of three quests known as the Ancient Vows quest which you will need to complete as it leads to you clearing Jamanra’s fortifications to help the Ardura Caravan reach the location right before the sandstorm.
However, due to the buggy nature of this quest, your Horn of Vastiri may be bugged and it won’t give you a quest marker. Try restarting your game and reconnecting to the server a bunch of times to get it to trigger if it hasn’t already. You should see a new quest marker on your Desert Map, this means it works correctly.
How To Clear The Sandstorm With Horn Of Vastiri In Path Of Exile 2
Once you have the Horn of Vastiri in your possession, the game will tell you to go speak with the NPC at the head of the Caravan. However, some players report that this specific NPC appears to be unavailable and cannot be interacted with. This is because you first need to move the Caravan in the correct position for it to trigger.
What you need to do is go into your Desert Map and instruct the Caravan to head to the sandstorm location indicated with a quest marker. Once the Caravan is here, you can now head to the NPC and get the option that says “Sound the Horn”. You will now have successfully used the Horn of Vastiri to clear the sandstorm in Path of Exile 2. The area of Deshar will be open to you, instruct the caravan to head there to start your next adventure in an even more harsh environment.
However, keep in mind that this is completely bugged for some players and it won’t work no matter what. A few solutions suggest that you should destroy the Horn of Vastiri in your inventory and then go back to Zarka to request another Horn. If you are still stuck, you don’t have many options other than waiting on a bug fix patch as these things are to be expected from an early-access game like Path of Exile 2.
