How To Find Chromite In Palworld

Palworld’s Feybreak update now launched several new features like new resources, new Pals, and a whole new, tough island to explore. But your reason to visit Feybreak is to collect rare resources so you can craft all the new weapons and workbenches to add to your base. One of the more important resources you can find on the new island is Chromite, but you can’t locate it without a unique item. In this guide we show you all the ways to get Chromite easily in Palworld.

How To Find Chromite Using The Metal Detector In Palworld

Before you can get to finding Chromite, you need to get yourself a Metal Detector. This new item unlocks once you reach level 56, and it requires 3 Technology Points to unlock it from the Research tree. Next, collect the following materials to craft the Metal Detector.

    • Plasteel *30
    • Paldium Fragment *100
    • Circuit Board *30
    • Nightstar Sand *20

You would have already farmed most of the above materials to craft level 50 armor, the only item new on the list is Nightstar Sand. To get Nightstar Sand, visit Feybreak island at night and search around the shoreline to find glowing yellow circles on the sand. You can just interact with it to collect Nightstar Sand, and it is always found on the seashore. You can then take all the materials to Production Assembly Line II and craft the Metal Detector.

Once you have the Metal Detector, you can equip it on your character and use it while you are on the island. While using it, the radar on the detector will turn from blue to red, indicating that you are close to a Chromite Ore. The Ore will appear as a puff of smoke once you get close to it, and you can farm it using your Pickaxe. Each node will give you roughly 80-90 Chromite.

    Other Ways To Get Chromite

Capture Smokie, one of the newer Pals in Feybreak, and use its Dig, Dog! Dig! Partner skill to identify potential Chromite spawns nearby. You can also get Chromite as a drop while fighting using Smokie. Upgrading the partner skill increases the Chromite that you get while farming.

Besides this, you can also find the new NPC, Arrogant Pal Critic, on Feybreak island. Talking to this NPC starts a new request, where if you show them a particular Pal that they are asking for, they will reward you with varying amounts of Chromite.

Best Chromite Farming Spots In Palworld

For now, you can find Chromite Ores in Feybreak Island, but it is unsure whether you can find them in other parts of the map. They mostly spawn inside boss caves around the island, so you have a better chance to find Chromite using the metal detector or Smokie here. Some locations you can check out are (-1200, -1100) and (-1049, -1240), or any other boss caves that you encounter.

How To Use Chromite In Palworld

Chromite is one of the crafting materials for Hexolite Ore, which is required in crafting Hexolite Armor and weaponry. Besides Chromite, you also require Hexolite Quartz and Ore in huge amounts. Hexolite Quartz is also one of the newer resources to get in the Palworld Feybreak update, and you need both Chromite and Hexolite Quartz to get all the late-game armor and weaponry.
