If there are any story branches players will play the most in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, it has to be the one for Goku. The most popular DBZ character also has alternate branches, but unlocking them starts with Goku’s brother Raditz, just like how everything starts in the manga. Here is how you can easily beat Raditz in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero.

How To Defeat Raditz In Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero
Despite being one of the early fights in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, Raditz is a tough fight. The challenging part is completing it quickly to unlock the alternate Goku story branches called Side by Side and Pushing Limit. However, there are two ways you can reach the Raditz fight and the requirement to unlock the alternate branches differs for both.
Paths That Lead To Raditz’s Fight
When you encounter Raditz in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero during “Raditz vs. The Turtle School”, you will have the option to fight Solo or alongside Piccolo. Fighting solo will be difficult but if you are solo, you will only need to defeat Raditz normally without any time constraints to unlock the alternate ending for Goku.
If you choose to fight with Piccolo as your teammate, you will have to finish the fight under 1 minute and 30 seconds. This is because Goku siding with Piccolo is the cannon path and fans of DBZ will know that Piccolo eventually takes down both Raditz and Goku. So after the time is up, that is exactly what will happen which will prevent you from unlocking the alternate Goku story branches. This is similar to how the time mechanic works in the Beerus fight called A Battle of Speed.
Strategy For Defeating Raditz
The best tactic for defeating Raditz in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is to fully charge your Ki and go into Sparking Mode, then proceed to spam your attacks until you can use your Ultimate attack Super Kamehameha when Raditz is knocked down.
Whenever you find yourself at a distance from him, use your Dashes to cover it and get back to spamming attacks quickly. It is best to fight Raditz at close range because he is really good at avoiding long-range attacks. If you choose to fight alongside Piccolo, remember that you need to be as fast as possible because if you fail to defeat Raditz quickly, you won’t be able to unlock the alternate branches for Goku. You should avoid using Solar Flare for this one as it will waste a lot of time for nothing worthwhile in return.
You can also use some Meteor Smashes and Kamehameha if you get the gap to pull those off but I will recommend that you only try to incorporate those if you’re strapped for time. This is because you can mistime it and waste the Ki that you need to pull off your ultimate Super Kamehameha. With a few good tries repeating this strategy, you will easily be able to defeat Raditz in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero and unlock the alternate branches for Goku in story mode.
