Satisfactory offers a lot more than just building a factory. You need to learn how to power them up, fetch materials to construct more machines, and work on unlocking more higher level buildings later on. Once you start building your base, you will quickly realize that you require electricity to power up all the machines. During the early stages of the game, your most reliable source of power will be the Biomass Burners. Early on, you might have a hard time trying to supply the Biomass Burners with enough leaves and wood, but there is a way to automate the Biomass Burner to automatically supply the required resources and keep it running
In this guide we will cover everything there is to know about automating the Biomass Burner in Satisfactory. The process of automating the Biomass Burner is a simple one, and we will walk you through all the steps for it.
Gathering Materials To Fuel The Biomass Burners In Satisfactory
The way to automate supplying resources to the Biomass Burner is through conveyor belts – first, from a Container where you collect all the material to the Constructor to turn them into Biomass; and the second from the Constructor to the Biomass Burner.
One thing to keep in mind is that wood, leaves, and mycelia are finite resources, and especially difficult to find in desert areas. Luckily you can also kill creatures and aliens and farm protein to feed it into the Constructor to gain Biomass. You can unlock the recipe to create and gather protein from the MAM, and you can store this in the storage containers to supply it.
The best part about hunting down creatures is that they tend to respawn, so you almost have an infinite source of biomass to convert into fuel. But truth be told, it is best to move on from the Biomass Burner and quickly head into building Coal Generators instead.
How To Setup Biomass Burners In Satisfactory
A basic Biomass Burner setup will include the following:
- 1 * Storage Container – Used to store wood and other resources
- 1 * Constructor – Converts all items left inside the Storage Container into Biomass
- 1* Biomass Burner – Converts Biomass into Fuel and ultimately supply power
- Conveyor Belts – Helps transport materials from the Storage Container to the Convertor and into the Biomass Burner
How To Expand A Basic Biomass Burner Setup In Satisfactory
You can further expand this layout if you wish to depend on Biomass for a longer time. Just follow the steps below to expand the plant layout
Two Constructor Setup For Biomass Burner
- Instead of one Constructor, use two Constructors instead and attach them with a conveyor belt.
- After attaining Biomass from the first Constructor, pass it through the second one to get Solid Biofuel.
- You can also build two different Storage Containers, one to store wood and the other to store other resources like protein or leaves, and connect them independently to each Constructor.
Three Constructor Setup For Biomass Burner
- Build two different Storage Containers and connect them to one Constructor each like above
- Combine the output of the 2 Constructors into a third Constructor to get Solid Biofuel
- Build another storage container to store Solid Biofuel
- Now, you can construct several Biomass Burners, and split conveyor belts from the Solid Biofuel storage container to each of these using Conveyor Splitters
- Connect the plant to the main power grid via power lines
- If you require more space, use Conveyor Lifts to build and transport items above your starting foundation
- One Constructor supplying Solid Biofuel can be attached to 12 Biomass Burners at a time.
