Building a town filled with people with their requirements is the task is difficult. Foundation offers immersive gameplay mechanics that serve every core ingredient it has to offer through its game. One of the first hurdles many players will not get past is the ability to get a good amount of money early on. While trading smaller stuff does earn money, but nothing to start working on the future of the citizens. Here we will take a strong look at the best method to earn some decent coin in Foundation.
How To Make Money In Early Game In Foundation

The best way to make money in Foundation is hands down via Taxation. While citizens might not like it, it does pay a lot of bills. The art of Taxation lies in its use, you need to stick to a proper balance to get a solid amount of gold per month without making your citizens a bunch of angry mobs. Here are the steps to build Taxation in the Foundation.
- First, build a Manor House.
- The second step is to create a Tax Office. The office needs a “Manor Tower, Minor “, while the building is optional.
- After all the building work has been finished, it’s time to assign a Tax Collector to the building. You can pick any unemployed person for the job.
- Now increase the Taxation on people. Head over to Royal Book on the top right of the screen, here you can decide the tax on people. Just like in real life, if you want to keep people happy, you will have to settle for less money on Taxation. If you are planning to raise the Taxation too high, be prepared to see a lot of frowny citizens in your city.
Everything here comes down to planning, Having higher-status villagers will yield a good amount of coin. Another way to proceed with the tax in the game is to rely on higher-density housing, here you will focus on one place to make the most amount of money.
Note: To make more money off Taxation instead of raising taxes, you can promote the Tax Worker assigned to the building. Promoting people to higher status will yield more production from any department; the list does include Taxation. Upgrading is another option to allow for the production of higher quality materials to get good profits in return.
Selling Meat in the Market

While the game does offer the option of selling Planks, Berries, and herbs, getting into the meat industry is one of the best ways to catch some gold in the city.
- Head over to the Progression section, under the Common Path, and choose Butchering. Getting the Butchering unlocks Hunter’s Hut and Butchery. Unlocking the Butchering will require you to invest 50 gold coins.
- Hunter’s Hut – Here you will capture and place Boars. Make sure to place the building next to the boar icon within the trees, so that the hunters will be able to hunt in a busy area.
- Note: Don’t build it over the resource zone, build near them. Once the building is built, head over to the Hunting under the Paint section and cover the most resource-filled area.
- Butchery– This building will turn the Boars into meats. The meat we can use to trade and get a good amount of coin.
You can sell meat in the Trade section. After you have built Hunter’s Hut and Butchery, then you need to assign people to both houses to start making meat. You don’t want to run out of them, so head over to the Resources in Royal Book and set the limitation of meat storage to 30 or 40. This will make the rest of the meat open for trading.
Now head to the Village Market, assign a worker, and then add Meat to the Market Stall.
Note: Always watch over the Hunter’s Hut, they can quickly get all the boars in the painted area. The whole operation will shut down if they don’t have a new hunting area for the daily work. Overseeing the operation of the Hunter’s Hut will allow you the current details of the hunting zone.
