The Freedom’s Flame Warbond in Helldivers 2 has introduced multiple new weapons to burn the pesky Terminid bugs, one of which is the SG-451 Cookout shotgun. It packs a mighty punch with high damage and low capacity while it competes with the incendiary Breaker for the title of the best fire shotgun. Here is everything you need to know about the SG-451 Cookout in Helldivers 2.

How to Get SG-451 Cookout Shotgun in Helldivers 2
The SG-451 Cookout can be unlocked for 20 Medals on Page 1 of the Freedom’s Flame Warbond which costs 1,000 Super Credits. Once you have unlocked it, you can head to the Armory on your ship to equip it as your primary weapon or do the same during mission deployment.
Fortunately, since the weapon is on the first page of the Warbond, you won’t need to grind for this weapon at all as long as you have the Super Credits to purchase it, even if you don’t have 20 Medals, you can easily get that in only a few missions on the higher difficulties.
But like every other weapon in the Freedom’s Flame Warbond, the SG-451 Cookout in Helldivers 2 is stronger against Terminid rather than the Automatons. This is because the fire damage from the SG-451 Cookout is more effective against the bugs.

How to Use SG-451 Cookout Effectively in Helldivers 2
The SG-451 Cookout is meant to be used at close range which requires you to be a bit daring in your approach as you need to get up close and personal to deal the most damage possible. It is best used against medium-sized enemies as is the case with most burst damage weapons. You can also consider throwing in some roids at the boss enemy’s weak spots like the Impaler’s head when it does its tentacle attack.
In the case of the SG-451, this weapon brings the Incendiary trait to pump action round reload shotgun, and using this to advantage can often involve leaving enemies to die off of the DoT damage rather than wasting extra rounds. As you use the Cookout, you will get a feel for which enemies require how many rounds until you can just wait for them to burn from the incendiary damage.
Also, make sure to take advantage of its reload because the SG-451 Cookout is one of the rare Round Reload type guns in Helldivers 2 that allows you to reload singular rounds rather than the whole magazine. With this gun, you should always reload even after shooting only one round compared to other weapons where you lose the remaining ammo in the mag if you reload the half-empty mag.
