Dungeonborne, Mithril Interactive’s recently launched free-to-play PVPVE dungeon crawler, is taking the community by storm because of its depth and complexity. The game features plenty of customizable options, allowing players to fully personalize the way they play with the different characters.
In the game, you can activate different set bonuses by equipping multiple gears of the same type. As of right now, there are 9 different set bonuses that you can get in Dungeonborne. In this guide, we’ll explore all the set bonuses available in Dungeonborne and rank them from worst to best. Let’s get started.
Ranking the Set Bonuses in Dungeonborne
Here’s a quick rundown of all the set bonuses that players can access in Dungeonborne:
9. Tiny Torment
Tiny Torment is one of those effects that becomes less effective the further into the game you get. For the early stages, the damage boost it gives is decent. But as you start facing enemies of a higher difficulty, the damage bonus becomes less impactful.
- 9 Set: When you deal unblocked direct damage, the target enemy will get hit with 3 points of true damage every half second for 5 seconds. It has a 15-second cooldown.
8. Drunk Alchemist
The Drunk Alchemist is another set effect that’s not worth getting once you get further into the game. It requires 15 charges to activate, and the effect is extremely unreliable.
- 15 Set: Get a random potion effect when you attack with an unblocked direct damage. You need to be out of combat, and this effect can only trigger every 30 seconds. If you deal ranged damage, you will also have a chance to trigger a random flask effect on the enemy.
7. Midas Touch

Midas Touch is a pretty nice set bonus since it lets you gain extra gold depending on the set bonus you’ve got activated. It’s relatively easy to access since you only need 3 charges for the first effect to kick in.
- 3 Set: Get 30 coins for killing a target.
- 6 Set: Get 60 coins for opening each chest for the first time.
- 15 Set: Get 1800 coins for a successful extraction
6. Tangling Chain
The Tangling Chain offers some nice crowd control and damage mitigation. However, activating the set bonus is expensive, requiring 12 charges just to get the tier 1 effect.
- 12 Set: Stay within 4 meters of an enemy for 3 seconds to gain a 100-point shield for 3 seconds after dealing unblocked direct damage to the target. It can trigger once every 15 seconds.
- 25 Set: for 3 seconds, get 90 extra movement speed when triggered.
- 30 Set: For 3 seconds, regenerate 33 health per second when triggered.
5. Force Of Trinity

For ranged characters, the Force of Trinity is an A-tier set. However, melee classes might not get much use out of it.
- 15 Set: When you deal three instances of unblocked direct damage within 3 seconds, you deal an extra 100 physical damage in an AOE around you.
- 25 Set: The effect also slows targets by 80% and fades away over 5 seconds.
- 30 Set: It also applies a Vulnerability debuff, making the target take 20% more damage for 5 seconds.
4. Faery Of The Lake
For mages, the Faery of the Lake set bonus is the perfect choice. It drastically boosts up your damage and also lets you kite enemies much more easily. Keep in mind the set bonus is relatively expensive to activate.
- 20 Set: Summon a faery upon dealing unblocked direct damage that explodes and deals 50 holy damage to enemies in an area and gives a 50-point shield to allies for 5 seconds. The effect can’t trigger until the faery returns.
- 30 Set: Boosts the faery’s movement speed and also makes the explosive effect trigger again when the faery returns
3. Storm Rage
Storm Rage is easily one of the best set bonuses that you can get in Dungeonborne, giving you a nice combination of damage, speed, and crowd control. There are three tiers that you can access.
- 12 Set: Moving around gives you charges, and once it reaches 100, dealing unblocked direct damage triggers Storm Range, which causes lightning damage to a target and reduces their movement speed by 75% for .75 seconds.
- 25 Set: Also gain 40% movement speed for 1 second when Storm Rage activates
- 30 Set: Adds a chain lightning effect to Storm Rage, causing it to bounce between 3 targets, dealing 100 lightning damage each.
2. Dragon’s Scale

Dragon’s Scale can turn almost any class into a tank, significantly boosting their survivability. There are two tiers that you can activate, and both of them are excellent for any character you play with.
- 15 Set: Reduces the damage you take by 50%. It only works once every minute.
- 25 Set: The damage reduction effect lasts for 3 hits or 3 seconds.
1. Pity of Death:
As of right now, Pity of Death is the best set effect that you can get in Dungeonborne. This essentially gives you a second wind even when you take fatal damage from an enemy’s attack.
- 9 Set: When you take damage that would kill you, your health gets set to 70. It can trigger once every resurrection.
- 15 Set: The effect of Pity of Death can trigger multiple times and has a cooldown of 120 seconds.
