One of the most interesting easter eggs in the new map is the one where you spawn a giant chess piece that goes around knocking zombies out with PHD Flopper. It is fun seeing it happen as zombies get knocked back by a moving ghostly chess piece up in the air slamming on the ground. The real question is how do you activate it? Well, the process is fairly simple but there is a randomness attached to it. How To Find Chess Piece For Easter Egg In Citadelle Des Morts
We have to find a standing chess piece on the map and place it on the chess board to get the easter egg. Here are the four possible locations for the chess pieces in the Citadelle Des Morts map. If a location doesn’t have the piece you are looking for, then you jump to the other one to find it.
- Dining Hall Passage
- Hillside Ramparts
- Dungeon
- Tavern
There is a randomness attached to the spawning of the chess piece. Move on to a different location, if one of them doesn’t work out for you.
Possible Location #1 Dining Hall Passage
The chess piece is located on a desk in the hallway connecting the dining room to the dining hall. When you reach the dragon statue at the end of the dining hall, take the path right of the statue, and you will find the chess piece on the table, right underneath the table fan.
Possible Location #2 Hillside Ramparts
Get to the castle’s entrance then turn left to arrive at Hillside Ramparts, where you will find the Elemental Pop Perk machine. Check the drawers opposite the machine to find the chess piece. The piece usually spawns on the table or drawer. Check out the table two small TVs placed on it, it may have the chess piece sitting on it.
Possible Location #3 Dungeon
Head to the dungeon, you may find the chess piece on the table here. Most of the time it spawns on any one of the tables in the dungeon. Make sure to look out for all the tables and drawers before heading to a different location.
Possible Location #4 Tavern Town Square
Head to the town square, and go inside the tavern. Now make your way to the cellar underneath the tavern, and you might find the chess piece on the shelf next to the wine bottles.
Once you have found the chess piece, hold the interact button to pick the chess piece up.
Activate The Chessboard
Now we have to place the chess piece on the chessboard.
- Once you have the chess piece in your possession, the next objective is to activate it. Head over to the Sitting Room in the castle, where you have the Stamin-Up machine. Here you will find the chessboard sitting on the table.
- Insert the chess piece we picked up earlier, and let the game begin. Once you have placed the chess piece, it will start the summoning process. An AOE effect will soon take place, now your only job here is to kill zombies as many as you possibly can.
Note: You can fail this part if you don’t supply the chessboard with enough zombie souls. Packing the area with zombies is the only way to guarantee the chessboard charge. The most effective strategy here is to make it to higher rounds so you will have a consistent amount of zombie spawns.
Kill as many zombies as you can to feed the chess piece, once the chessboard is fully charged with enough souls of the zombies we slay. It will summon the Guardian Knight chess piece.
The Guardian Chess Piece
The chess piece will follow the player and release the PHD Flopper blast on every move. It doesn’t last for long, but it will be fun seeing zombies getting knocked over by the PHD Flopper blast range.
