Brighter Shores is a fun and adventurous point-and-click RPG, and there is a lot to do when it comes to learning the ropes about the game. You can pick up several professions while playing the game, and one of them is being a fisherman. Collecting fish for cooking or for sale can help you earn some XP and cash. While you are just starting out with your fisherman job, you might want to figure out the easiest and quickest ways to level up and start earning better rewards. In this guide, we have all the information on how to level up fishing quickly in Brighter Shores.
How To Get Fishing Equipment In Brighter Shores
The earliest piece of equipment you can purchase is the Fishing Spear from Melv’s fishing store, east of the Town Square. It will cost 12 Silver to get it, and it can be further upgraded as you level up your character.
Later in the game, you can return to the fishing store and purchase better gear like the Fishing Rod and the Casting Net. With each piece of equipment unlocked, you start catching higher rarity fishes and unlock better locations. Besides using your fishing equipment, you also require bait. After reaching level 20 and unlocking the Fishing Rod, you can also purchase bait to lure in fish.
How To Level Up Fishing Fast In Brighter Shores
You might be looking for an easy way to level up your fishing profession, and there is a simple tactic that will help you get up to level 10 quickly. You need to visit several locations, farm the required fish that corresponds with your level, and then level up your fishing skills.
- During level 1 onwards, after purchasing the Fishing Spear, make your way to East Beach. The waters are filled with Mottled Flounders that are level 0 – level 1. Farm them for a while till you reach Fishing skill level 2
- Then make your way to Eel Street Bridge east of Hopeport Obelisk and south of the Town Square. There are level 2 and level 3 Lesser Eels around the waters here, so try to get your hands on a bunch of them till you reach Fishing skill level 4.
- Next, make your way to Willhope Crossing just southeast of Eel Street Bridge. You can spot level 4 to level 6 Sandy Pufferfish here to farm your Fishing skills up to level 6.
- Once you reach level 6, head back to East Beach. You will find that the Flounders have evolved or upgraded to level 6 Olive Flounders. Start farming those to increase your Fishing skill to level 8.
- After that, make your way to the Eel Street Bridge to find level 8 Gray Eels. Farm those, then head back to Willhope Crossing to find level 10 Lonely Pufferfish.
By now, you will have scaled your Fishing skill to level 10. Repeat these steps to keep unlocking all higher-level fish and upgrade your fishing skills.
This would also be a good time to upgrade your fishing equipment. The basic Spear’s first upgrade unlocks at level 15 and costs 126 Silver. This upgrade gets you 5% extra XP, which never hurts.
At level 20, you unlock the ability to get Knowledge Points, and you can use them to purchase passive upgrades for your profession. In fishing, for example, you can purchase the ability to do passive fishing, which is a great way to farm fish while AFK.
Should You Sell Or Cook Fish In Brighter Shores
After catching all that fish, you will find your inventory stocked with them. To get rid of them, you can either turn them into specific dishes, or sell the fish directly. In our experience, it is best to sell fish at the Eel Street Frequently Fresh Fish Stall, as they can give you a better profit and lots of silver if you are looking for ways to farm money during early game.
