A part of Chapter 3 of Black Myth: Wukong takes place in the Pagoda Realm. As you wake up and move around the area, you’ll come across locked prison cells with a purple seal in front of it. Striking them doesn’t do anything, and at first glance, you won’t really see any way to open these seals. But it is worth figuring out a way to do it since it gets you the Ashen Slumber transformation spell as a pay-off.
In this article, we’ll explain how you can open these prison cells by breaking the purple seal in Black Myth: WUkong. Let’s get started.
How To Open The Purple Seal Prison Cell Doors In Black Myth Wukong
To open the Purple Seal Prison Cell Doors in Black Myth Wukong, you’ll need to defeat a Yaoguai Chief called Captain Lotus-Vision.
After waking up in the jail cell in Chapter 3, interact with the cell door to kick it open. It’s a pretty linear region at this point. Go left, and you’ll find another jail cell just like yours, but with a purple magic seal preventing you from getting inside. You can talk to the NPC inside if you want.
Keep moving forward since you can’t do anything else in this area yet. The area is riddled with difficult enemies, including Lantern Wardens that can pick you up and throw you off the ledge. So take your time dealing with them, and you’ll end up at the first Keeper’s Shrine in the region.
This is the Lower Pagoda Keeper’s Shrine, and to get to the boss, you’ll need to get to the Upper Pagoda section in the area. Rest up if you have to and go left into the open jail cell. Keep moving forward, and you’ll eventually end up back outside. Follow along the ledge until you see another open jail cell. You’ll know you’ve come to the right place if you see a set of stairs going up inside it.
Take the stairs to go up, and you’ll end up back outside. Go to the end of the ledge, and you’ll see a wooden beam. Use the beam to cross to the other side and take your first left. Keep moving forward, defeating enemies along the way, or simply run past them if you want. Eventually, you’ll come across a slope heading upwards that you’ll want to take.
A Red-Haired Yaksha is waiting for you here. Defeat the enemy or run past it to get to the Upper Pagoda Keeper’s Shrine. You’ll see an opening on your right along the way, but don’t take it. Keep moving forward to get to the resting point.
Use the Keeper’s Shrine to top off your health. It’s time for the boss battle. From the shrine, go back through the cell door, and you’ll see an opening that leads to a room below on your right. Drop down to the roof and get to the lower level, and the fight will start. Captain Lotus-Vision is no pushover, so make sure you take your time with the boss.
After defeating the Yaoguai Chief, you’ll be able to capture his spirit. While most boss spirits grant you an ability, this one works as a Key Item. Leave the area by going to the back of the room and taking the slope that goes up on your left. Drop down, and you’ll be back near the wooden beam section.
Head back to the Lower Pagoda region, and the purple seals on the doors will be unlocked. Head in, talk to the NPC, and pick up the sword stuck inside the nearby dead body. You’ll be rewarded with the Ashen Slumber Spell for your efforts.
Ashen Slumber Spell In Black Myth Wukong
The Ashen Slumber spell is unlocked from the NPC in the Lower Pagoda realm after unlocking the Purple Sealed Prison Cell by defeating Captain Lotus-Vision. The spell is a powerful transformation spell that has the Destined One transforming into a Rat Guai, ‘slashing at the enemy while blowing fierce flames at them, inflicting Scorch Bane’.
