When you first set foot into the world of Avowed, you will make your appearance in Dawnshore. You get to learn a great deal about your Envoy as well as the gameplay mechanics here. Once you set up your party camp, you will notice a totem shrine that requires some unique artifacts. Totem fragments are rare items that are scattered all across the different regions, and since we start off the game at Dawnshore, this guide will cover how to collect all 7 Totem Fragments in Avowed.
How To Get All Totem Locations In Dawnshore In Avowed
There are 7 Totem Fragments and 1 optional one to collect while exploring Dawnshore, and we will list them all below. I would recommend here that you enable a unique setting in the game’s Settings menu that enables markers for each fragment. To do that, head over to Settings > UI > Compass – God Shrine Totem Pieces > On.
The one important piece to collect is the Totem base, which you can then put in the Totem Shrine at your camp. This then gives you unique benefits, and each piece that you discover gives you an added unique benefit. As you progress through different zones in Avowed, each zone will have a similar Totem to collect. You can only activate 1 Totem at a time, however here since we are starting with the first one, that is not an issue.

Fragments of the Scales Location | Riddle For Woedica’s Totem
This is an optional Fragment, but it helps you locate the remaining Dawnshore totem fragments in the game. You can get it from Sanza’s store in Paradis Hightown, and it will cost you 500 Skeyt. Purchasing this gets you a riddle, which has clues to each of the actual 7 Totem fragments locations. The riddle goes like this:
The Burned Queen’s totem patiently waits amidst ruins of the heathens she hates
This golden crown’s stolen gem can be found in the emporium
In Dwarven halls ‘neath mountain shroud, the Strangler’s justice can still be found
Overlooking booths where goods are sold, this balcony leads to order’s hold
Below death’s grip so icy and cold await ancient oaths cast in gold
Beneath an amethyst light on high, this shining plaque draws sailor’s eyes
Atop the isle of wicked outlaws flicker golden flames of a glorious cause
Broken Crown Jewel Location
There is another fragment to pick up within Sanza’s Emporium. Head to the very back of the Emporium to collect this one off the table.
Golden Plaque of Promises Location
Next, make your way to the Lighthouse, which is the same place where you can pick up a treasure map off a corpse. The Lighthouse is on the southwestern section of Dawnshore, west of Claviger’s Landing. You can spot this fragment while making your way up the Lighthouse. It is inside a broken wall where you can spot a door and a large branch in front of it.
Golden Scale of Justice Location
Head over to Paradis Hightown and make your way to the Apothecary Shop in Pearl District. From there, climb up the platform beside the shop, continue left, then continue past the rafters on the right. Go to the very end of the passage, then jump towards the balcony where you can spot an easel. Enter through the doorway beside it and make your way to the bottom floor to pick up the Golden Scale of Justice fragment.
Scales of the Oathbinder Location
The Scale of the Oathbinder is located at the Shrine of Woedica, just east of the Rise and northwest of Watcher’s Mirror.
Golden Plaque of Oaths Location
You can get the Golden Plaque of Oaths while completing Sanza’s quest, Mapping the Living Lands. Once you find the dead body of the cartographer in Usher’s Hand, right beside him is a grilled gate that can be broken using an ice spell. Drop down to collect the fragment off a rock.
Golden Scale of Order Location
This fragment is located in Pargrun Cache. Walk around the building till you find a destructible wall, then make your way up the wooden rafters till you reach the top. Jump across to the other side to find a nest with the Golden Scale of Order.
Golden Flames Location
Make your way to Castol’d Folly island and head east. You will come across a broken red building with a dome roof, from that take a left and go past the brazier. Jump across to find the Golden Flames.

Getting all 7 Fragments and activating the Woedica Totem at the Shrine gets you the following benefits:
- Swift Orders: Reduce companion ability cooldown by 15%.
- The Power of Command: Activating a companion ability increases your damage for 5 seconds.
- Sympathy for the Damned: Critical Hits deal Fire Accumulation.
- The Queen’s Burden: +1 Intellect, +2 Resolve.
- Noblesse Oblige: Reviving a Companion grants rapid Health & Essence Regeneration.
- Flames of Resurrection: Second Wind casts Ring of Fire.
