Avowed offers a large roster of side quests during the course of the game. When you first set foot at Dawnshore, you would have met a peculiar NPC called Sanza. According to him, he had sent out his trusted cartographer, Geirmund, for a task but hasn’t returned yet. So it is upon you to help Sanza locate his lost friend. This guide will give you the rundown on where to locate the missing cartographer at Dawnshore in Avowed.
Mapping The Living Lands Dawnshore Guide
The first time you get to meet Sanza is near the first location where you will set up your party camp, near Ivona’s Threshold. Speak to him to know more about the missing cartographer and the location of his disappearance. While the location he specifies is quite vague, you can pick up a note from him titled Geirmund’s Dispatch. Picking this up will give you information that Geirmund likely went missing in Usher’s Hand, which is an area beyond Paradis.
You won’t likely get to Usher’s Hand from the get-go, so follow the main story quest till you gain access to the main city of Paradis. The enemies beyond the walls of Paradis can be tough, so make sure to prepare yourself here and buy new weapons or gear while you are at it. Once you are ready, head directly east of the outer walls of Paradis to find the cartographer.
Geirmund’s Location
Head out the Paradis city’s eastern exit beside the Mermaid’s Den and make your way directly east. You can follow the quest marker to reach the location. Once you get there, you will notice a circular enclosed area appear on your mini-map. Look around for an underground cavern, which you can explore to collect your first Dawnshore Totem. Anyways, you will notice a corpse next to the cavern opening, which happens to be Gerimund. Investigate the area around his corpse and pick up Geirmund’s Map quest item, then head back to Sanza.
Sanza Location
You won’t find Sanza near Ivona’s Threshold anymore, rather you need to head inside Paradis city to find him. You can find Sanza inside Sanza’s Emporium in Hightown, in the southern part of the city, next to the fountain. Head into the store and speak to him to inform him about Geirmund’s fate. As a token of your effort, you will receive 78 XP, and complete the side quest.
