7 Days to Die is an open-world survival game in which you must brave a world in the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse. The game blends elements from FPS, survival horror, tower defense, and RPG to give players a unique, memorable experience. Mechanical Parts are a common crafting material that you’ll need to build things like Bicycles or Desk Safes.

In this guide, we’ll discuss all the ways you can get Mechanical Parts in 7 Days to Die.

How to Find Mechanical Parts in 7 Days to Die

The easiest way to get Mechanical Parts in 7 Days to Die is to scavenge them in the open world using a Wrench or looting them from toolboxes, shelves, or crates. Sometimes, Mechanical Parts also drop from destroyed workbenches.

If you plan on salvaging items for Mechanical Parts, there are two things you need to know first:

    Finding a Wrench:

You can break down most loot you come across while exploring in 7 Days to Die. However, you can’t scavenge without a Salvaging Tool like Wrench. You can, of course, craft a Wrench in your Inventory if you don’t have one. But to craft a Wrench, you’ll need 4x Mechanical Parts as part of its recipe.

Thankfully, Wrenches are pretty easy to find. If you explore the different superstores and hardware shops in the world, you should be able to stock up on a couple of Wrenches soon enough. Alternatively, Traders often sell this item, which you can buy if you have enough Duke’s Casino Tokens saved up.

    Salvaging the Right Items:

Once you have your Wrench, it’s time to get to work. When you’re out exploring the open, in 7 Days to Die, you’ll find plenty of things like file cabinets, HVAC units, and even abandoned shopping carts.

Walk up close to any of these things with the Wrench in your hand and press Left-Click to start hacking away. Your character will start disassembling the item, and you’ll start getting a steady supply of Mechanical Parts, among other things, in your inventory. Keep in mind that only a Wrench will give you Mechanical Parts.

Here’s a quick list of items that you can salvage for Mechanical Parts using a Wrench:

You can also craft Mechanical Parts in 7 Days to Die as long as you have the required materials. To craft Mechanical Parts, you’ll need:

    • 2x Forged Steel
    • 1x Duct Tape

Now, the Duct Tape is pretty easy to find in the overworld. You can even craft it without too much trouble.

However, to make Forged Steel, you’ll need to have the Steel Smithing skill unlocked first. You’ll also need a Workbench to craft Forged Steel, which you’ll need to build unless you find one in the open world. To make the Workbench, however, you’ll need 20x Mechanical Parts, which brings us back to step one.

For new players who simply want Mechanical Parts, crafting them isn’t the right choice. It’s far easier to scavenge them using the method we mentioned above. Check out our guides on the game, such as How To Get Water In 7 Days To Die and Best Perks To Obtain Early.
