Is The Thorn Armor Set In Fallout 76 Worth It?
The Thorn Armor Set can inflict 250 Bleed Damage on targets that use melee attacks. There is a 10 second cooldown between each Bleed attack, but the effect can be refreshed by performing repeated applications. While having this armor set equipped, you will be harder to detect especially while sneaking.
The only downside to this set is the lack of radiation resistance, so facing raid bosses can be a hassle. Plus, the amount of Gold Bullion required to purchase the blueprints and the materials required to craft the Thorn Armor is intense and time-consuming.
While this set is great for general exploration, you might have a harder time trying to participate in events with this armor set, as it isn’t that great against bosses. Visually, the Thorn Armor set is modeled after the Solar Armor and shares the same mods as the Forest Scout armor, Urban Scout armor, and the Covert Scout armor.
Legendary Effects for the Thorn Armor can be crafted at the Armor Workbench, but you cannot reroll legendary effects using the legendary crafting feature. You can also use the workbench to apply mods on the armor pieces. Mods can be purchased from MODUS terminal inside the Whitespring Bunker
All in all, the Thorn Armor set is a great set to own while exploring areas with tons of melee enemies. While the bleed damage cannot be stacked, you can easily inflict the Bleed status effect, making it easier to tackle enemies in the overworld.
