Blue Archive Affection & Relationship Guide: All Levels, How to Increase & More

In Blue Archive, you can start relationships with your students to increase their bonds and make them stronger. Each time you get to level up your relationship, you can claim bonus stats as well as unlocking unique stories and memorials. This guide will explain everything there is to know about building relationships in Blue Archive.

How to Increase Relationships in Blue Archive

You need to first recruit a couple of students so you can experience having bonds with them. Next, you need to work on your relationship with them, which can be done in the following ways.

    Visiting the Cafe

The Cafe is a location that you can visit to find all your recruited students hanging out. If you check on the Exclamation icon above their heads, it means they can be tapped on to earn Relationship Points. You can tap on each character 8 times per day, and you can check into the Cafe every three hours to tap on your students.

    Gifts

Offering your students gifts is the fastest way to level up your relationship with them. There are no preferences when it comes to giving gifts to your students, but you might notice that some gifts trigger a better response than others. Also, there are no limits on the amount of gifts you can give them.

To know which gifts a character might like more, head over to your cafe and drag the item out of its inventory slot. While waving the item in front of the character, you will notice a smiley face appearing above their head. You need to look out for characters who have a grinning smiley, as that means the gift you have in hand is most suited for them.

Below is a list of characters and the preferred gifts they like.

You can also get gifts by crafting them. Head into the Crafting Chamber and use either Keystones, Keystone pieces, or resource materials into a crafting slot. Then, it will show you several sub nodes, where you can pick the one you want for crafting. The end result will be an item you can hand over as gifts.

    Teaching Lessons

Teaching your students their lessons is another way to gain and increase relationships. For each student, there is a limit to how many lessons you can give them, and you can teach up to 3 students at a time per room.

    Relationship Levels Explained

Each student tier will offer different Relationship level caps. For every Relationship rank they attain, they will get bonus stats till they reach Relationship rank 50. The further you get to upgrade their Relationship, you can also unlock new stories and also the Recollection Lobby. You can view your MomoTalk to know where you stand with each student relationship wise. Below are the Relationship level caps for each student tier.

    • 1 Star and 2 Star – Caps at level 10
    • 3 Star – Caps at level 20
    • 5 Star – Caps at level 100

Students of lower tiers can be upgraded to higher tiers, provided they are awakened first once they reach their current max level. At level 51, you will find that your students stop receiving bonus stats, but they can still be leveled up. At relationship levels 1 – 50, you will receive primary bonuses. From levels 11 to 50, you will also receive secondary bonuses. These two will stop scaling after that. Students that have variants will receive a bond bonus, which equals to the total sum of their stats.

How to Unlock Relationship Stories and Recollection Lobby

These two unique interactions unlock after ranking up your students’ relationships. After a certain level, you will start to see messages from your students on MomoTalk. The more the conversations drag on, the more closer you are to viewing their Relationship Story. This is a random occurrence, so you have to keep leveling up your students before you get this option.

Recollection Lobbies are unlocked the same way, but you can view your student’s unique interactions on the lobby homescreen. The recollection lobby showcases special animations of particular students relating to their Relationship Story. You can place 10 students max on the lobby homescreen’s roster.
