The mobility of the Panther in Mecha BREAK, mixed with its Lance and Shield Blade, will make the gameplay pretty addictive. You have the option to equip a shield to parry attacks and deflect projectiles, or you can simply give up the shield and switch to offensive. Here is a guide to Panther in Mecha BREAK.
Mecha BREAK: Panther Overview

Panther is your Lance and Shield combo, but the game does offer you to swap the Shield with another Sword to become more offensive on the battlefield. Let’s take a look at all the Panthers’ abilities and their drawbacks in Mecha BREAK.
Melee Weapon: Lance
Panther is equipped with a sharp Lance, so prepare to do a lot of thrusting damage. You can do both a common thrust Lance move and a charge-thrust Lance attack. Charged attacks will deal more damage (over 40k) than the basic Lance attacks (7K).
- Long Thrust Move: Long-Thrust move or Charge attack can deal more damage and will bypass the enemy’s fluid armor and force fields.
The longer you hold on to the charge, the more damage you deal to the enemy. Charge attack may sound good, but it is better to save it as a counterattack than a direct common move. When you launch a charged Lance attack, you are unable to change the Panther’s direction; your opponent can easily move out of the way to make it to a safe area.
Sidearm: Complex Shield
Effect: Complex Shield is a regular shield that you can use to deflect enemies’ projectiles, and also can be used to parry enemy attacks, which inflicts a stagger effect on them.
Complex Shield allows you to set up a proper counterattack against enemies after you parry their attack. After parrying, you can launch a charged long-thrust to deal a good amount of damage, leaving a stagger effect on the enemy. Using a shield comes with quite a catch; while it can block all frontal assault at the same time, it stops the shield regeneration.
Sidearm: Shield Blade

Effect: The Shield Blade can bypass fluid armor, dealing direct damage to enemies while leaving stagger and knockback effects.
Here, you swap the Complex Shield with Shield Blade for more offensive capabilities. Shield Blade has the Downward Strike move, a plunging attack that is unparryable and has no recoil from melee crashes. After the drop attack, you can launch the basic Lance combo to deal a good amount of damage. The real advantage here is the air, since you can only perform the Downward Strike attack in the air, you will be safe from most ranged attacks when executing this move.
AUX 3: Reinforced Complex Shield
Effect: The energy shield around you protects you from melee and enemies’ projectiles. The shield will also keep you from getting staggered attacks from the enemy’s melee strikes.
You can activate the Reinforced Complex Shield even if you are staggered or immobilized. Here, you need to strategize on the shield usage in the combat; if you use the shield all the way to the end, it will become unusable and reach the cooldown mode. It is better to turn off the Reinforced Complex Shield before it completely depletes. So, you can launch it again without waiting in the midst of a hectic battle.
AUX 2: Booster Kit
Effect: Using the Booster Kit immediately restores partial Panther’s Shield and Energy.
As you can see, it can be a crucial skill in the game. You must use the kit at the appropriate time instead of pulling it out randomly in the game. Allows you to extend the combat duration or save yourself in a tough time.
Tips for Playing as Panther
- In combat, target Hurricane, Stego, and Inferno, as they are all vulnerable to melee attacks. Use the panther’s mobility to get close to the enemy to deal strikes at them.
- Panthers come with a Booster Kit or energy packs. With a proper strategy, you can raise the panther’s combat time beyond its initial rate.
- If you are feeling good at your parry abilities, then bait the player to do a rush attack, so you can parry them.
- Take cover and conserve your shield to survive the combat. When you are on the battlefield, energy projectiles will be more common than waiting for a parry attack.
- Master the Downward Strike attack on enemies to dominate the field. It will take a while getting used to it, but it will be worth it.
