Stamina is one of the most important mechanics in Persona 5: The Phantom X. It is required for performing almost every major activity in the game, including leveling up characters and weapons. With a stamina cap of 240, it is critical that this gets used only for the right activities in the game.

In this guide, we’ll break down the different ways you can spend stamina in Persona 5: The Phantom X.

Persona 5: The Phantom X How To Spend Your Stamina

Stamina in Persona 5: The Phantom X is best spent on:

    • Character & Weapon Ascension
    • To level up materials
    • Soul Gems
    • Persona Fusion & Insight
    • Revelation cards

Let’s look at each of these.

    Character and Weapon Ascension

One of the most common uses of stamina is for gathering ascension materials. These materials are required for lifting the level caps on both thieves and weapons.

Every character has a stat boost upon ascension, providing more HP, ATK, DEF, and other passive increases. The same goes for weapons as well. Farming these materials consumes stamina, but is necessary for scaling up characters and their gear.

    Level-Up Materials

Stamina is also used when farming experience materials for thieves and weapons. These materials are used to raise levels and improve stats across your team.

While experience items for personas are available too, they’re not as important during the early parts of the game. Most players will find themselves spending more stamina on thief and weapon EXP materials, as they play a bigger role in the early and mid-game.

    Soul Gems and Skill Materials

Soul gems are another area where stamina comes into play. These gems are a core currency in the game and are used for upgrading skills, strengthening weapons, and pushing your characters further.

While many soul gems are awarded through story missions, side quests, and limited-time events, there will come a point where you’ll need to farm them manually with stamina. The same applies to skill upgrade materials. Though not a top priority early on, they still support your team’s growth in the long run.

    Persona Fusion and Insight

As you progress in the main story, Persona Fusion becomes available. Using stamina to collect personas allows you to take full advantage of this system, which is directly tied to the main character, Wonder.

The Personas you equip influence Wonder’s base stats, such as HP, attack, and defense, depending on their roles. Moreover, when you fuse a new persona and register it in the compendium, you gain Insight. This Insight is then used to unlock powerful upgrades in Wonder’s skill tree.

Farming Personas not only give you more tactical flexibility, but also strengthen Wonder passively over time.

    Revelation Cards (Artifacts)

Revelation Cards act as the artifact system in Persona 5: The Phantom X. They offer set bonuses based on 2-piece and 4-piece combinations, and can be farmed using stamina.

However, the card system includes random rolls for both main and substats, making it a resource-heavy activity. Farming good Revelation Cards often requires several stamina runs, especially if you’re aiming for specific builds.

While the option to farm them is available early in the game, most players find that this content becomes more viable once their team is stronger. That’s because lower-level players might struggle to make full use of the cards they obtain due to stat scaling and rarity.
