Suikoden I&II HD Remaster: Fortune Orb Or Prosperity Orb Choice Guide

In Suikoden 1 HD Remaster, there is a choice you need to make very early in the game. You have to pick between taking the Fortune Rune or the Prosperity Rune, and this guide will explain how to get one or the other and the effects you get in Suikoden Remaster.

You will encounter this choice in Chapter 1, after you have been instructed to visit Sarady very early on. After leaving the castle and arriving at your home in Gregminster, do not explore your home or head upstairs. Rather, exit the house and make a beeline to the Inn, where you can save your game. Your task now is to make it to Sarady, which is just past Mt. Tigerwolf. Since the path through Mt. Tigerwolf can be difficult in early game, I recommend that you level up a bit before taking this up.

Once you reach Sarady, visit the Inn to save your game. Then, make your way to the small hut on the northeastern section of the region. Speak to the man inside and he will hand over the Fortune Orb, after which you can return to Gregminster and play the rest of the game as usual. It is important to visit the man in the hut solo, or else you won’t get the Fortune Orb from him.

How to Get Prosperity Orb in Suikoden Remaster

The process of obtaining the Prosperity Orb is the same as that as of the Fortune Orb, where you will be tasked on visiting Sarady in Chapter 1 to collect it. You still need to make it past Mt. Tigerwolf to get to Sarady and collect the Prosperity Orb from the man inside the hut. But this time, you can bring a friend along so you don’t have to attempt your adventure as a solo player. After reaching your home at Gregminster, head upstairs but be careful not to enter your room. Once you go up, add Ted to your party, then make your way to Gregminster Inn to save your game.

Continue with the rest of the gameplay as mentioned above for the Fortune Orb, but this time you can take the help of Ted to get across Mt. Tigerwolf. Visit the man in the hut at Sarady with Ted to receive the Prosperity Orb. Don’t forget to save your progress at Sarady Inn while you are here.

Other Methods to Get the Prosperity Orb and Fortune Orb

If you find the process of going through the game’s questline to collect either of the two orbs a chore, there are other methods you can try as well. There are certain monsters you can defeat to get the Prosperity Orb or the Fortune Orb as a random drop, but this can take a long time as well since the drop is extremely rare and random.

For the Fortune Orb, find and defeat Maguses around Moravia, and for the Prosperity Orb, defeat Pseudo-Sirens around Kirov. if you have purchased the Suikoden Remaster DLC, you can claim both the Fortune and Prosperity orbs together, and collect 57,300 Potch.

    Which Orb Should You Pick?

Ultimately, the choice comes down to what you prefer your gameplay to be about. If you wish to get rich quicker, then the Prosperity Orb is what you should be working towards. You can then equip this on characters who will stay in your party the longest, so you can reap the benefits in the long run. You can also equip this rune on characters who have physical buffs and don’t rely on runes to boost their stats.

But, if you are not planning on keeping the same team throughout your playthrough, then it is best to go for the Fortune Orb. This can help you level up any new character that you wish to add to your team, as it offers a double XP boost to the character who has this rune equipped. Since Suikoden Remaster has over 66 combat characters, you might want an easier method to level them up quickly, and the Fortune Orb is perfect for that.
