Should You Ring The Bell After Defeating Guangzhi In Forest Of The Wolves?
Yes, you should ring the bell after defeating Guangzhi in the Forest Of The Wolves. This is probably the first bell that you come across, and there are two others to be located, found and rung. Doing this unlocks a secret area with goodies and an optional boss fight. The order in which you ring the three bells does not matter, so irrespective of which of the three you come across first, go ahead and ring them!
Bell # 1 : Forest Of The Wolves
- Start from the Outside The Forest Keeper’s Shrine.
- Turn left after defeating two wolf Yaoguai till you come across a chest guarded by a Yaoguai.
- Cross the bridge and follow the path with the pillars and you will come across a giant stone head.
- You will encounter Guangzhi in the open arena beyond; and on defeating him gain access to the Bell Shrine
Bell # 2 : Bamboo Grove
- Start from the Snake Trail Checkpoint.
- Stay on the path till you reach an area with bamboo and snake skeletons.
- This opens up the area for a boss fight with Guangmou.
- On defeating the boss, you can climb the stairs to gain access to the second Bell Shrine
Bell # 3 : Marsh of the White Mist
- Start from the Marsh of the White Mist Checkpoint.
- Defeat the Whiteclad Noble boss.
- Take a left and follow the river till you come across a few enemies.
- Defeat them and you can see the third Bell Shrine ahead.
What Happens When You Ring All Three Bells In Black Myth Wukong?
Once you ring the three bells in any order, there will be a cut-scene and post that you will get transported to a secret area in the game : Ancient Guanyin Temple. This area has an optional boss fight with the Elder Jinchi. This is a pretty tough fight, so in case you want to come back later after you have progressed in the main game and are better equipped, you can use the Checkpoint to fast travel out of this area. This Checkpoint can be accessed from any other Keeper’s Shrine.
Once the boss is defeated, you get the Fireproof Mantle – one of the four vessels required to be collected to unlock ‘Treasure Trove’ trophy / achievement. The Fireproof Mantle increases burn resistance and grants immunity to scorch damage when equipped. On activation, it grants burn immunity and focus increase. Apart from this drop, before reaching the area, you also get the Guanyin Prayer Beads which moderately increases your maximum health and mana for a long duration on absorbing the lingering will.
