The post-apocalyptic world of The Forever Winter is plagued by the endless clash between factions. These groups of people are fighting over taking control of the limited amount of resources remaining in the dusty, burning, ruined world. The game presents a fascinating world, with each faction fighting for their dominance. To learn more about them, take a look at this article!

Every Faction In The Forever Winter

The Forever Winter consists of three major factions – Europa, Eurasia, and Euruska. Scavs and Virtual Intelligence can be considered as secondary factions. Let’s talk about each of these in detail.

    Europa

This faction can be considered as the unified front of Western Europe, North America, and South America. This faction is in a declining state and uses outdated technology to fight against its tech-savvy enemies. Europa fights a defensive war and uses old vehicles and Mech units along with outmoded weaponry. Their territories are unable to cultivate crops, and protein-synthesized food is their only option.

    Eurasia

Eurasia comprises East and Central Asia along with some parts of Eastern Europe. This faction has a state-of-the-art biotech department and is focused on producing engineered agrotech engineered crops. They treat civilians as mere resources and have converted them into cyborgs by taking away their organs and biologically altering their structure. Eurasia also has advanced Mechs and Drones that can aid in battle. However, they have limited manpower compared to Europa.

    Euruska

Euruska consists of Russia, some former Slavic countries, and parts of Africa. They are allies of Eurasia and are waging war against Europa. Similar to Eurasia, this faction also focuses on aggressive governances influenced by extreme biotech engineering. Their hideout is in the undergrounds of the post-apocalyptic Los Angeles and many of the civilians have joined private military companies to serve as weapon dealers and warlords. This faction can be occasionally found on the frontlines and is mainly involved in support roles.

Secondary Factions In The Forever Winter

The following can be considered as a secondary faction in The Forever Winter:

    Scavs

These are a group of vagabonds who try their best to survive by scavenging what they can from the ruined areas. Their main objective is to stay unnoticed while the above factions are waging wars against each other. This is in fact what you are in the game: A nobody who tries to go about the work of collecting resources like Europan drone parts and whatever else that can be scavenged, while the gigantic robots, mechs and drones fight their battle.

    Virtual Intelligence

In places where humans are scarce, Virtual Intelligence has taken over. They cannot be programmed anymore and are completely out of control. You can be assured of them wreaking even more havoc than any of the factions mentioned above.

The game has been in early access for a week and has gained a lot of buzz from the gaming community, particularly for its world building. There are quite a few videos that delve into this part of the game in detail, which have also formed good references for us to put this article here. You can have a look at videos from YouTuber Riloe in this lore video here as well as from Critical Rocket here, which we have referenced actively to stitch together this article for you.
