Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl offers a unique gameplay experience while navigating the lands filled with mutants. Besides learning how to defend yourself against the unknown, you will also make a few friends or enemies, depending on what you choose as part of a variety of quests in the game. Some choices may impact your gameplay, but others will not and you can freely go ahead and make a decision on what feels right.
When it comes to the main story mission ‘In Search of a Guide’, there is a small but impactful choice you need to make about a guide called Nimble. Stalker veterans would be familiar with this character, but you can make a choice about him here. You can either choose to kill Nimble or spare him, and this guide covers what happens in both cases.
Nimble Location In Stalker 2
You can find Nimble in Snork Cave, on the southeastern section of Zaton, as part of the ‘In Search of a Guide’ mission. You can start this mission right after completing the prior quest ‘Like a Moth to the Flame’. This quest in particular will help you learn about the base called Clear Sky, where Faust is supposedly hidden away. But you need to figure out the clues to find Clear Sky, and there is only one person who can help you out.
Talk to Richer in either Skadovsk or Shevchenko in Zaton to learn about the secret base, and he will tell you to find Trapper and talk to him instead. Head southeast if you are at Skadovsk or east from Shevchenko to find him. After talking to Trapper, you will learn about Snork Cave, where Nimble is located.
Should You Kill Or Spare Nimble In Stalker 2?
Once you locate Nimble, there is a short cutscene where you both manage to escape an explosion, but are also attacked by a mutant. After the cutscene ends, you have to make the choice here.
Kill Nimble
If you plan on killing Nimble, then prepare for a fight. After gunning him down, you can loot his body to get Professor Kalancha’s Map, and some other miscellaneous items like ammo and a PDA.
Spare Nimble
Choosing to spare Nimble will help you learn more about Clear Sky, about Faust’s whereabouts, and about navigating the base. You will still get Professor Kalancha’s Map, and you can also get Coupons of varying amounts based on game difficulty. You can still shoot him after this, but he won’t have anything worthwhile to loot.
Kill Or Spare Nimble: Best Choice
The best outcome here is to spare Nimble, as you get a lot of Coupons and a lot of info about Clear Sky. He will also teach you how to disable the Psi-Beacons, and you can learn where to find Faust for the Ad Astra Per Aspera quest. You can still loot his gun which drops on the floor, so you don’t need to kill him for it.
It is unclear for now whether killing or sparing Nimble will affect the Stalker 2 storyline later on, but he poses no threat, so it doesn’t seem worth it to kill him. But some other choices in the game will affect the plot, like the one about killing or sparing Squint or Solder in Stalker 2, so you can check those guides out to make an informed decision.
