Space Marine 2 has several set pieces and battles where you will be frantically destroying enemies, dodging and parrying to survive and make it to the next such frantic battle. The game is also not the most liberal in doling out Stimms, which means your armor charges remain the best bet in keeping you alive through the course of the main campaign missions and operations. In this guide, we have put up all the ways in which you can restore and increase your armor class in Space Marine 2.
How To Restore Armor In Space Marine 2
When you take damage, the armor takes the hit first, and once it is fully depleted, your health starts going down. Health can only be recovered to the extent of the white portion that remains for a while, and only if you deal damage to an enemy before that white portion disappears. Thus, it becomes important to restore armor in Space Marine 2 by either of the following methods:
- Performing Finishers on enemies: Executing enemies is the best way to regenerate armor in the battlefield. This also grants I-frames while the execution animation plays out and makes you immune to damage during that period. Finishers can restore a pretty decent chunk of one armor bar – at least half, and if you perform an execution on a bigger enemy, it can also restore one full armor bar.
- Bulwark Class in your squad: There is a reason why the tank Bulwark Class is one of the more popular ones in PVE. This is because of the class ability Chapter Banner, that fully restores armor of the Bulwark and nearby squad members. This one has a slightly long cooldown, but with a full armor restore, you would hopefully not be needing this one soon.
- Outside of combat: The only other way is to be outside combat, where the armor restores fully to fill up all bars. This can only happen once all enemies have been defeated, running or hiding in between a battle does not count as outside of combat.
- Weapon Perks: There are a few weapon perks that help restore armor. For e.g. the Rally Perk for an Artificer-level Power Fist restores one armor bar when health is below 30% and you land a Backfist or a Thrust attack. Similarly, Fast Regeneration for the Bolt Rifle restores the armor 0.5 seconds faster than normal when you kill an enemy.
It is to be noted that the armor restores at a quicker pace in PVP, and avoiding incoming damage by keeping a good distance away from the enemy also counts as outside combat and restores armor.
How To Increase Your Armor In Space Marine 2
You can increase your armor temporarily in Space Marine 2 by finding Armour Boosts. These Armour Boosts drop occasionally from destroying boxes. However, these can add max one more armor bar, and once it gets depleted, it is gone and cannot be restored by performing executions or any other method listed above.
So, while this may make classes with 3 armor bars instead of 2 a good one to pick, each of the classes comes with other strengths as well.
