Cult of the Lamb is filled with plenty of secrets all over the world for players to unravel. On your travels, you’ll sometimes encounter things that make no sense. But once you dig deep, you’ll soon discover there’s more to it than you thought at first. The Snail shells that you may have randomly picked up are one such secret.
In this guide, we’ll help you understand all there’s to know about Snail Shells and the five weird Snail statues that you might find on your journey. Let’s get started!
Where To Get Snail Shells In Cult Of The Lamb
Snail Shells are dropped by special green-colored Snails in Cult of the Lamb that can spawn when you’re crusading in two specific locations: Darkwood and Anura. But here’s where things get tricky: not only are the spawn rates for these Snails low but there’s also no guarantee that they’ll drop a shell when they are killed.
When exploring the two regions, make sure you check all the rooms thoroughly. Cut the tall grasses and hope for these enemies to spawn. Once they do, take them down quickly, and if you’re lucky, you might just be able to pick up a Snail Shell.
Where To Use Snail Shells In Cult Of The Lamb
Collecting Snail Shells and depositing them at special shrines called Snail Statues lets you unlock a special follower skin. The Snail Follower Skin that you can unlock by depositing Snail shells at all five shrines is necessary when you’re hunting down all the achievements in the game. Without it, you can’t get the Full Flock achievement in Cult of the Lamb.
Finding All The Snail Statues in Cult Of The Lamb
There are a total of five Snail Statues you’ll need to hunt down to unlock the secret skin in Cult of the Lamb. That means you’ll also need five Snail Shells to make your offerings. Thankfully, the statues are always in the same spot, so if you manage to get the five shells, you’ll be able to unlock the skin without any extra trouble.
Here are the locations for each Snail statue in Cult of the Lamb:
Lonely Shack
The first Snail statue you’ll likely run across is in the Lonely Shack area. It’s right behind the house, with four burning candles in front of it. The house is also called Ratau’s Shrine in the game.
Pilgrim’s Passage
This one is pretty easy to miss. Go to Pilgrim’s Passage and head west towards the red and white lighthouse. Move past the lighthouse, and you’ll see the Snail shrine hiding among the rocks at the corner of the screen.
Spore Grotto
The next Snail shrine can be found in Spore Grotto. In the room with Sozo, head west past his tent, and you’ll find this statue.
Smuggler’s Sanctuary
You’ll find the next Snail statue In Smuggler’s Sancturay near the west part of the jetty. It’s pretty hard to spot in the landscape. Walk along the western edge, and you’ll see it light up.
Midas’s Cave
You’ll find the final shrine in Midas’s Cave near the Follower Form vending machine. This one is pretty hard to miss.
That brings us to the end of this article. With some patience, luck, and a dash of help from us, you should now be able to unlock the Snail Follower skin in Cult of the Lamb with no trouble. Make sure you check out our other guides on the game, which include How to Heal and How To Sacrifice.
