The Mesa desert is a whole new biome to explore in PEAK, and it rotates with the Alpine biome alternatively. If you are stuck dealing with the harsh desert plains, then you need to learn how to properly navigate through the scorching heat of the lands. Sometimes, you might see something off at a distance that might be too good to be true, only to realize that it is merely a mirage. This guide will explain how to identify mirages in PEAK.
How to Identify a Mirage in PEAK

Some crates or characters in PEAK are not real, and to identify them, you need to press the middle mouse button and hover the light blue cursor over the item or character. If the pointer goes through them, then this is a mirage. If the pointer instead goes around or on top of the object, then the item is real. Adjust the camera angle so the pointer reaches the item of interest to interact with it.
This method saves you a lot of time trying to get to hard to reach places to pick up the loot chest or to reach a creature like the Cappybara. Keep using this method before making a difficult climb to get to the location, and this method works in both single play and co-op. Mirages only occur within the Mesa biome, so you don’t have to worry about using this method while outside of the map.
Mirages don’t have fixed spawn points, making it impossible to know when you encounter one. If you had ended up trying to reach a luggage, only to know that it wasn’t even real, then you would have lost quite a bit of stamina. Our guide on gaining unlimited stamina in PEAK will help you with that, or reach more about all new Mesa items and how to use them to see if you get something more helpful for your climb.
