In Neon Abyss 2, you get to travel alongside companions called Hatchmons. Besides accompanying you, they can also assist you in battle. There are a few different kinds of Hatchmon to get, and each of them offers unique abilities to utilize while out and about. This guide will explain how to get Hatchmons and their uses in Neon Abyss 2.

Opening chests, completing rooms, and breaking objects like crates are the best ways to get a random Hatchmon egg as a drop. If you want to purchase these eggs, visit the Temple of Shopping to get them. Another way to get Hatchmon eggs is to unlock the Agapesim Perk, which can be found on the second page of the Evolution Skill Tree.

With this perk, an Agapeism Proxy spawns randomly within any room, and each time you strike it, it will drop an egg. These eggs can also be purchased at the Temple of Agapeism, which can be accessed if you use the Teleporter or Pillar of Faith. Traveling to the next room will make the Temple disappear, use the Agapeism perk on the Pillar of Faith to re-enter the temple anytime.

Hatchmon eggs will be automatically hatched as you keep defeating enemies and clearing rooms. It will take an average of 4 rooms to get one egg to hatch. This process can be sped up if you obtain artifacts like the Dinosaur Skull. There is a machine within the Temple of Agapeism that can be used to hatch multiple eggs simultaneously.

It is best to collect any Hatchmon egg you come across, since not all eggs will hatch into a Hatchmon. Some will fail to hatch or give you nothing, so keep collecting as many eggs as you can and try your luck in getting a Hatchmon. Agents like Elise will have a Hatchmon companion already, but you cannot interact with them or evolve them in any way.

How to Evolve Hatchmons into Super Hatchmons

To get a Hatchmon to evolve into a Super Hatchmon, you need to do either of the following:

    • Combine 4 mini Hatchmons (same type or variations).
    • Particular weapons have a chance of triggering a Super Hatchmon evolution.
    • Events within rooms and temples can also award Super Hatchmons randomly.

Hatchmons can be evolved into Super Hatchmons, and each of them carry unique skills and abilities. Also, if the Hatchmon is a battle based creature, then they can deal more damage as Super Hatchmon.

There are 23 different Super Hatchmon types to collect, and you can view each Hatchmon evolution under the Hatchmon tab in the game’s menu. There is a unique Hatchmon booklet that will give you all the combinations required to hatch a Super Hatchmon. You can also change the color of a Super Hatchmon manually by using the Color Changing Machine.
