Welkin in Mecha Break can be seen as a jack of all trades, as they can take part in offensive, defensive maneuvers, alongside team fighting, assassination, and more. Welkin will be a blast to play, but you need to be aware of the resources to pull off the moves. Most of the Welkin moves have a cooldown attached to them, and the drainage of the cooldown meter goes down fast. Here is a guide to Welkin in Mecha Break.
Welkin Overview

Welkin is equipped with a variety of weapons and skills that can help you dominate your opponents. Let’s look at the pros and cons of each skill of Welkin.
Melee Weapon: Heavy Battleaxe
Welkin is equipped with a Heavy Battleaxe to deal melee damage. Since most of the time you will spend in melee combat, as Welkin, you will be reliant on the Heavy Battleaxe to do most of the work. When it comes to attacks, you have a variety of options, from basic attacks to Welkin’s whirlwind move.
- Basic Attacks: Common attacks do a decent amount of damage and can be chained. Here, you have the option to alternate between normal to charged attacks. Basic attack will damage the enemy’ HP, cause Knockback, and Stagger effect. It will be your go-to move in all battle scenarios, as they are energy-efficient.
- Whirlwind: It is a multi-hit spinning unparryable AoE attack that deals a good amount of damage against any enemy. But the major drawback to Whirlwind is its energy requirement. The skill is also practically useless if the enemy is airborne; using it against any flying enemies will make Welkin drop to the ground. Constant use of the move can also drain the energy at a quicker rate. It is better to save the Whirlwind move and stick to the basic common melee attacks.
Side Arm: Heavy Howitzer
Effect: The Heavy Howitzer allows the Welkin to launch a barrage of grenades at the enemy from a distance.
Performs as your sidearm, basically giving you some range option before getting close to the enemy. It deals a good amount of damage at a distance.
Dueling Forcefield

Effect: Welkin creates an energy force field around its body, in the shape of a giant cube. The force field also acts as a wall; it can trap the enemy within the cube with you in the middle. Here, you unleash melee and Whirlwind attacks to deal heavy damage to the enemy.
Launching Dueling Forcefield also launches tracking drones that deal physical damage and inflict stagger to any enemy that gets trapped inside the forcefield. If you get close to an enemy and enable the Dueling Forcefield, they will get trapped inside the forcefield. You can also use the forcefield to defend against any projectile heading towards you or your teammates.
Aux-2 Jamming Pulse Ejector
Effect: A skill that disables all enemy drones, common buffs, and the HUD.
A perfect strategy before taking on an enemy in close-range combat, jamming the pulse will make them more vulnerable to attacks. A very effective move against any mech that relies on drones, such as Hurricane and Luminae.
Aux-3 Defense Field
Effect: An energy field that blocks any attacks from the front.
You can use the Defense Field to block out indirect and direct energy damage. It is also effective against melee strikers. The only major drawback to this skill is its cooldown. You can activate the shield for 10 seconds, and the cooldown timer here is 30 seconds to recover. You must strategize when you use the skill, at the proper time, without messing up.
Tips for Welkin Play
- Use your basic or common attacks against flying enemies; don’t become overly reliant on the Whirlwind attack.
- You can launch Dueling Forcefield and Jamming Pulse Ejector even if Welkin is staggered on in an immobilized state. Dueling Forcefield doesn’t hinder friendly units, making up for a strategy-based gameplay.
- Dueling Forcefield is also effective in defending objectives. They will give you shields around you to act as proper protection from all sides.
- As a Welkin, you should go after Hurricane and Inferno first, as they are weak against melee damage. Here, rely on Aux- E Defense Field or the Jamming Pulse Detector to completely shut down the defense of the enemy, making them more vulnerable on the battlefield.
- Now, on the other side, you need to look out for Tricera and Stego, as they can deal a heavy amount of damage to Welkin at a distance. If you want to take them out, you need to get close to them to attack them.
