Killing Floor 3: Best Engineer Build Guide

In Killing Floor 3, you get to pick from 6 different classes or Perks and choose one that works best with your playstyle. With each perk, you get to customize their build, which includes loadout, skills and more. If you prefer to play as the Engineer, then you will need the best build that will work for it in Killing Floor 3.

Best Engineer Build in Killing Floor 3

The Engineer might be a bit difficult to use early in the game, since the only way to tackle enemies is to get up close and personal. This close combat specialist build should be enhanced with the right skills to maximize their unique crowd-control techniques.

    Best Weapon Loadout

You get a choice of 4 primary guns and 1 secondary weapon for the Engineer, and each of these comes with unique mods for their loadout. We are picking the Contex CSG and G33 for our primary and the Krait for our secondary. Let’s take a look at the loadouts below.

    Contex CSG Loadout

At the start of the game, go for the Contex CSG shotgun. To this, apply the Explosive Slugs ammo mod to make it easier to deal AoE damage. Equip it to the weapon and save the loadout. This makes it cheaper to purchase at the very start of the game, plus you get high damage output.

    G33 Loadout

For your second primary weapon, go for the G33 grenade launcher. For the ammo mod, pick Freeze Grenades. With this, your weapon deals AoE damage and freezes enemies temporarily, dealing cold damage.

Alongside this, add the Affliction Amplifier internal mod. This will further enhance the Freeze Grenade’s effect and increase cold damage output. Before saving the loadout, add any magazine, sights, or other mods if required.

    Krait Loadout

When it comes to your secondary weapon, pick the Krait for a fully automatic weapon. The ammo mod for this will be the Electric Ammo, which not only deals massive damage to a single target, but also applies electric damage to all targets nearby. To increase its damage output, also add the Heavy Frame Receiver. While this may reduce the rate of fire by a few, the benefits outweigh the risks as you still get a massive increase in damage.

    Best Passives

    • Full Blast
    • Major Damage
    • Hole Punch
    • First Contact
    • Scatter Plot

Since we are going for a high damage build which also focuses on AoE damage, Scatter Plot and Full Blast will be your go-to passive skills. Major Damage and First Contact will increase weapon damage, while Hole Punch increases penetration power. If you prefer to have more movement speed, then switch out Hole Punch for Bleed for Speed instead.

    Best Throwables

    • Grounded
    • Capacity Increase
    • Dismember the Day
    • Scrap Heap
    • Second Time Around

The Bouncing Betty throwable is exclusive for the Engineer. It comes with an increased explosion radius and increased lifespan while placed. The fragment projectile is increased using Dismember the Day, and Scrap Heap helps retrieve one extra ammo. Bouncing Betty’s fragment component is multiplied using Second Time Around, and Grounded increases Knockback. Adding Capacity Increase will increase your Throwable carrying capacity by 1.

    Best Gadgets

    • Stabilize
    • Wall of Sound
    • Clear the Area
    • Sonic Salvo
    • Reverb Pedal

The above skills work well when used on the Sonic Storm. Each of these skills increases the damage radius and projection, as well as the projectile speed for the soundwave. These help you out when it comes to additional defense and pushing back enemies to give you some time to recoup and recover.
